SUMMARY

AccuWeather is looking for an entrepreneurial sales leader to build and lead our video sales team. Video sales at AccuWeather encompasses the national and award-winning AccuWeather Television Network (24-7 Cable News Network) and our OTT that offers AccuWeather Now, as well as our digital O&O properties.

You will be responsible for defining strategy and see through the operational execution of our sales efforts. We are looking for someone who enjoys to build a business from the ground up, driven and has a track record of success in ad sales and excels at working under the pressure of deadlines in a fast-paced environment. In this very hands-on role, you will work collaboratively with marketing, programming and digital sales.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creating a go-to-market strategy for the AccuWeather Network and Digital Video
  • Working collaboratively with the digital sales team and internal and external resources to effectively execute your plan
  • Navigating agency and client organizations to find key executive decision makers for AccuWeather's multimedia offerings
  • Gaining access to and communicating effectively with high-level clients and agency partners
  • Building awareness of the company's offerings and capabilities among TV and video ad buyers, as well as establishing AccuWeather as a leader in cross-platform sales capabilities and data-lead offerings
  • Maintaining constant contact with client before, during, and after the sale to establish and positively manage the business relationship
  • Strategically developing AccuWeather's presence as a global media player and the world's leading weather provider
  • Managing, organizing, and updating relevant sales data using sales CRM
  • Working with Ad Operations and Account Management to insure campaign delivery objectives according to insertion orders

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university.
  • 15 or more years of advertising sales experiences with a mix of TV and digital sales
  • Solution based/Consulting based selling experience.
  • A track record of successful sales experience demonstrated by specific achievements; demonstrated enthusiasm regarding sales
  • Ability to build long-term customer relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high level of initiative
  • Demonstrated ability to have a sense of urgency, acting with the realization that efficiency is vital to success
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and team members.
