The Product Designer has a great eye for typography, a passion for user-centered design, and desire to build experiences that amplify the work of AccuWeather product portfolio; consumer & enterprise. This role requires a balance of strong visual design alongside an understanding of creating design systems and software tools. This position will work on-site out of our Headquarters office in State College, PA.


o       Track record of rapid prototyping and launching impactful v1 products from concept to delivery

o       Produce pixel perfect high fidelity visual comps and guides to the development team

o       Advanced understanding and experience working with responsive and adaptive layouts

o       Help develop, manage, and refine UI pattern libraries and interaction guidelines

o       Communicate, defend, and build consensus around product design direction

o       Strong portfolio with a highly refined aesthetic

o       UX sensibility and exceptional eye for detail

o       Help define product strategy



o       Minimum of 5 years’ product design experience

o       Expert knowledge of the Sketch and Adobe Creative Suite

o       Expert knowledge of Zeplin for style guide creation

o       Experience designing high-profile, complex experiences for the web, mobile and over the top interfaces

o       At least one-year experience mentoring, managing, or directing junior product designers

o       Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and UI best practices

o       Ability to design within brand guidelines and create guidelines as needed

o       Strong presentation skills

o       Experience within an Agile delivery team to iteratively plan and develop products

o       Experience with rapid prototyping applications

o       Strong understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript and some ability to code

o       Keynote and/or PowerPoint skills

o       Experience working in After Effects



o       Familiarity with the AccuWeather brand and weather-related content

o       Ability to prototype for user testing

o       Curious and globally oriented



o       Bachelor's degree or higher in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
