AccuWeather provides hourly forecasts worldwide, with customized content and engaging video presentations available on smart phones, tablets, wired and mobile internet sites, smart TVs and appliances, as well as traditional media. AccuWeather is looking for a Product Design Intern to join our team for Fall 2018! This position will work on-site out of our Headquarters office in State College, PA.
The Product Design Intern is working towards a degree in graphic design, human-centered interaction design, or related major. This role requires a portfolio that demonstrates experience in problem solving, visual and interaction design, and user-centered design methodologies.
o Partner with Product Designers and Senior Product Designers to take conceptual ideas and turn them into wireframes, interactive prototypes, and pixel perfect high fidelity visual comps
o Help develop and refine UI pattern libraries and interaction guidelines
o Communicate and build consensus around product design direction
o Gather feedback from internal stakeholders to validate designs
o UX sensibility and exceptional eye for detail
o Ability to design within brand guidelines and create guidelines as needed
o Proficient in Sketch and Adobe Creative Suite
o Knowledge of Zeplin for style guide creation
o Some experience working with responsive and adaptive layouts
o Keynote and/or PowerPoint skills
o Strong presentation skills
o Familiarity with the AccuWeather brand and weather-related content
o Ability to prototype for user testing
o Intellectually curious and motivated
o Currently enrolled for bachelor's degree or higher in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
