THE ROLE:

Acceleration Partners seeks an Internal Employee Communications Manager to develop and implement an internal communication strategy. The communication strategy will focus on how to effectively communicate to employees across the organization, so they stay up to date with AP’s vision, goals and company information. As AP continues to grow our 100 % remote workforce, both in size and across new locations, transparent and effective communication strategy is increasing in its importance to our future success as an organization and to the is engagement of our employees. Able to use and maximize various channels and media types (email, slack, video content, etc.) this person will play a key role on the employee experience team in amplifying AP's employer brand both internally and externally attracting and retaining talent.  This role, reporting to the VP, Talent & Culture with a dotted line to Marketing, will be responsible for streamlining our current communication channels focusing on keeping employees engaged as well as building and deploying the strategy for ongoing and future communications. The ideal candidate must be effective in organizing and working cross-functionally as well as working with Senior Executives. This is a highly visible role within the organization and will have close relationships with People Operations, Training, Talent Acquisition, Marketing, Business Operations, and the Senior Leadership Team.

TOP 5 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Internal Communication Strategy – Works to create a communication strategy where there is clear and effective communications to employees on all things happening in the organization. Ensuring the right message is being communicated at the right time to the right people, in the right format, so employees feel connected to the brand and the people. Responsible for keeping employees informed on the current happenings, opportunities, and resources available within the organization.
  2. Internal Communication Channel Management and Deployment – Responsible for the production of ongoing and one-time internal communications both written and presented. Ensuring these communications accurately reflect AP’s brand and voice while creating consistency across communications. Respond to feedback and adjust future communications accordingly. This includes the employee newsletter, company announcements, assisting with creating decks and coaching presenters for company calls.
  3. Amplifying Brand, Culture, and Employer Brand (Internal & External)– Responsible for using effective communication strategies to amplify our employer value proposition and the AP culture both internally and externally using various mediums and channels and creating and executing on the content. Celebrating and highlighting milestones, employee stories, and important events for the company both internally and externally. Working closely with Global Marketing and Talent Acquisition support content in AP Social channels (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter) amplifying the AP brand and EVP. Working closely with the Associate Director of Content and Creative support submissions for surveys and awards as needed and other communication channels or projects which directly impact employee attraction or retention. 
  4. Executive Communications – Create and manage important announcements across the organization to ensure positive tone, employee perception, and the AP brand is accurately reflected and interpreted across our global organization while ensuring the intended message and outcome is received by the audience in the most effective manner. Working closely with members of the Senior Leadership Team, Marketing, and HR this role will be responsible for, or heavily supporting, the production and execution of those announcements and should be able to coach executives on effectively communicating.
  5. Global Employee Engagement & Experience – Responsible for ensuring that our communication strategy and execution is not an obstacle but a competitive advantage. Maintaining a connected, remote communication with our 100% global remote employee base. Key metrics will include engagement, inclusion and belonging, motivation, and access to information.

 

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE:

BY 6 MONTHS… you are able to grasp and understand the voice and brand of Acceleration Partners. You are regularly communicating to employees through multiple channels, ensuring consistency in communications. You have built relationships with the Employee Experience Team, People Operations, Marketing, and the Leadership Team to create strong partnerships. You have developed the overall internal communication strategy and how to keep employee’s engaged and motivated around what is currently happening at AP and any changes to come.

BY 1 YEAR… you are successfully communicating to employees through multiple channels and are leading the charge. This includes guiding senior leaders on the communication approach in any situation and strategically guiding our communication strategy with a documented plan.  You are connecting employees with the right information at the right time being as transparent and informative as possible using the AP voice and brand. You have made adjustments to the style of the communications based on feedback and reactions to previous communications. You are actively staying engaged around what is happening at AP and how to best streamline communications across the organization Globally. You are regularly coordinating with senior leaders to proactively provide communication support on organizational changes to come.

 

QUALITIES OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Has a strong internal motivation to get the job done and done well
  • Proven experience working cross-functionally (HR, Marketing, Business Operations, etc.)
  • Comfortable working and communicating with a variety of different audiences
  • Exceptional speaking and writing skills  
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness
  • Detail oriented
  • Previous experience coaching presenters on how to ensure the right message is conveyed
  • Previous experience working with corporate change management communications
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • 5+ years of effectively working on a Communications team focused primarily on internal communication strategy and deployment
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or relevant experience
  • Intermediate/Advanced PowerPoint presentation skills
  • Video creating and editing capabilities creating interactive communications
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills including grammar and editing
  • Photoshop or other visual editing tools, a plus
  • Social Media experience preferred
  • Comfortable working in a Global environment and communication across time-zones, languages and cultures

LOCATION:

The Internal Employee Communications Manager is a remote, work from home position, as are all positions at Acceleration Partners (a structure central to our culture and our vision to change the work/life paradigm). Candidates must reside within a reasonable driving distance of one of our key hub regions: London, Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, Chicago, Denver, or Santa Barbara/Los Angeles.

Some travel may be required for client meetings or other internal meetings, conferences, etc.
