The Sr. Mechanical Engineer will be a key member of the mechanical engineering team. They will be responsible for planning, leading, and executing projects focusing on new product development using 3D printing technologies. They will work closely with product design, fabrication technicians, manufacturing operations, and production tooling engineers to design tooling and equipment to produce sustainable molded fiber products using additive manufacturing systems, processes, and materials.
Responsibilities
Design tooling for molded fiber product prototypes
Guide fabrication of prototype tooling
Design and upgrading production equipment
Perform FEA and flow analyses of tooling designs to optimize performance
Document designs and analyses using PDM and PLM systems
Plan and execute experiments to further the state of the art in 3D printed tooling design
Initiate ECO, RCA, CAPA, SOP & work instructions
Document and communicate results of experiments to peers and cross-functional management
Requirements
BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or physics; equivalent experience and/or other engineering and science disciplines considered
Minimum of 7 years experience in R&D or New Product Development
Knowledge and hands-on experience with additive manufacturing
Project management experience
Experience in mechanisms and equipment building
Experience with Solidworks
Experience with FEA analysis
Experience with fluid flow analysis
Local to Camarillo CA to be hands-on with fabrication and testing of designs
