The Role

The Pricing & Cost Business Analyst Analyst is instrumental in supporting both the Sales and Finance team with costing and pricing analysis, proposals, metrics, and reporting.  You are comfortable creating insightful analysis from large amounts of data to improve the company’s decision making, particularly in the areas of customer RFP responses, revenue projections, forecasting, cost and margin analysis and estimating, and driving the attainment of business unit objectives.

Essential Functions: 

  • Partner with sales, operations, accounting/finance, and other business partners to drive enhanced decision making
  • Analyze and understand sales pipeline activity, sales funnel and opportunity to close in order to update weekly projections and forecasts
  • Identify and report gaps and assist sales team in prioritizing activities based on data
  • Understand and analyze costs and cost drivers to support cost estimating and pricing
  • Assist with special projects as requested

Desired Experience: 

  • 3+ years of experience in a similar financial/accounting role
  • Previous manufacturing (especially food service or packaging), financial reporting, and cost accounting experience a strong plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant degree, such as Finance, Accounting, or related business field 
  • Excellent analytical, organization and communication (both written and verbal) skills with the ability to work independently and interact effectively with all levels of management
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and manage deadlines accordingly
  • High degree of sensitivity and discretion in working with confidential information is required
  • Strong computer skills, building costing and pricing models in Excel
  • Comfort working with SQL databases and queries preferred 
  • Experience working within an ERP such as NetSuite, SAP or other preferred
