The Mechanical Design Engineer will be a key member of the mechanical engineering team. You will be responsible for executing projects focusing on new product development using 3D printing technologies and traditional machining practices. Also, you will work closely with product design, fabrication technicians, manufacturing operations, and production tooling engineers to design tooling to produce sustainable molded fiber products using additive manufacturing systems, processes, and materials. Design tooling for molded fiber product prototypes
Guide fabrication of prototype tooling
Plan and execute experiments to further the state of the art in 3D printed tooling design
BS in Mechanical Engineering or physics; equivalent experience and/or other engineering and science disciplines considered
Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in R&D or New Product Development
Knowledge and hands-on experience with additive manufacturing
Experience with Solidworks
Experience with being hands-on with fabrication and testing of designs
