THE ROLE
The Mechanical Supervisor functions at the plant level to ensure successful implementation and management of the mechanical processing equipment, infrastructure, and building requirements for the Texas facility. Ensure the proper maintenance of equipment, compliance with building and structural codes with adherence to safety regulations. Mechanical Supervisor assists with process equipment system installation, troubleshooting and repairs as needed. Design piping systems, equipment skids, and machine improvements, as well as contributing to improved designs and manufacturing processes and other common job functions. Participate with Engineering and Operations management in development of long-term corporate objectives and business growth requirements.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Responsible for adhering to safety practices and policies on a daily basis creating a safety first culture on the production floor
- Contribute to creative manufacturing solutions involving production lines, machinery and infrastructure
- Lead preventative and responsive maintenance efforts on mechanical and hydraulic process equipment
- Help schedule and manage mechanical maintenance crews, job responsibilities, personnel issues, and personnel development
- Work with operations to optimize equipment performance
- Facilitate machine improvements to promote safety or resolve safety issues
- Assist maintenance in developing long-term solutions to system, process equipment and facilities issues
- Assist and support production on engineering machine improvements to increase safety and/or line performance
- Help facilitate the implementation of facility additions/modifications
- Motivate electricians to increase their productivity and meet work goals
- Purchase supplies, ensure adequate inventory, plan budgets, prioritize purchases, and prepare cost estimates
ABOUT YOU
- Minimum 5 years in manufacturing environment
- Supervisory experience of with 2-5 years preferred
- Capable of effective communication and team building to enhance project coordination
- Hands on experience with equipment and infrastructure of maintenance processes
- Knowledge of manufacturing environment including current compliance requirements for safety
- Experience using best practices for installation of process equipment
- Excellent problem-solving skills in an industrial equipment environment
- Ability to work in a team environment and relate well to all levels in the organization
- Ability to work on the floor to resolve issues
- Experience troubleshooting pumps, hydraulic systems, and repetitive high speed processing equipment
