Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) is a cloud native Security Service Edge (SSE) solution that builds on a decade of secure web gateway leadership. Offered as a scalable SaaS platform through the world's largest security cloud, it replaces legacy network security solutions, preventing advanced attacks and data loss with a comprehensive zero trust approach. You will work with cross-functional teams and include building solutions to improve identity, authentication and policy services to a modern microservices architecture. You will provide engineering and operational leadership to teams in close partnership with teams in the US and India. We are looking for a leader to build a culture with a focus on execution, change, quality and efficiency. A hands-on leader who can guide the team through tough architectural decisions and communicate with customers.
You will report to the VP of Engineering and you'll be responsible for:
- Define, deliver and operating products and services using modern software development principles and achieving 99.999% availability
- Collaborate with Product Managers to define and fulfill the product roadmap and collaborate with internal Zscaler teams to come up with joint solutions and unify the architecture
- Improve and re-architect existing products or services to meet the ever growing scalability needs of our customers
- Evaluate process gaps early and motivate change to achieve better outcomes and exhibit behavior to encourage internal collaboration
- Source, hire and retain a world-class diverse engineering team
What We're Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)
- 15+ years software engineering experience
- 10+ years of technical, people management and product & service delivery and responsibilities
- Experience building services delivered in public and private clouds
- Experience with public cloud PaaS , microservices architecture and running and supporting services in public/private clouds
- Experience working with senior management to develop and implement our technical vision
- Expertise in Docker, Kubernetes microservices frameworks and knowledge of Kafka, RabbitMQ messaging frameworks, databases and modern cloud technologies
- In depth technical knowledge with an ability to define architecture requirements and evaluate designs and lead teams and projects to success.
- Bachelors in Computer Science or related fields.

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.
