Job Description

As a Staff Software Engineer at Zscaler, you will be responsible for end-to-end ownership of features, including testing, automation, deployment, and monitoring the secure Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and Trusted Platform Module (TPM). Your role will be critical in ensuring the quality, reliability, and scalability of our cloud security solutions. You will design and automate test plans, develop and maintain automated testing frameworks, performance testing tools, and continuous integration pipelines to ensure the highest level of security and compliance for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • PKI and TPM Testing: Design and develop test plan to test the the implementation of secure Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and Trusted Platform Module (TPM) within an organization
  • Test Automation: Develop and maintain robust and scalable test automation frameworks for our cloud security products, covering various layers of the software stack including PKI and TPM.
  •  Quality Assurance: Create, execute, and maintain comprehensive test plans and test cases to identify issues, validate product functionality, and ensure product quality. 
  •  Performance Testing: Design and implement performance and load testing strategies to evaluate the efficiency and scalability of our cloud security solutions. 
  •  Scale Testing: Work on testing methodologies and tools to simulate and validate the performance and scale of our systems under different scenarios. 
  •  Tools Development: Build and maintain tools and utilities to support the testing and development process, improving efficiency and productivity. 
  • Troubleshooting and support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting for PKI and TPM-related issues, including certificate deployment, authentication, key operations, and TPM integration.
  •  Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, DevOps engineers, and product managers to drive testing and quality initiatives. 
  •  Continuous Integration: Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate and streamline the testing and deployment processes. 
  • Scrum Teams: Participate in scrum teams, contribute to scrum planning, and collaborate on delivering high-quality software with agile methodology. 

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in testing within Networking and/or Security space
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field. 
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, or similar for test automation. 
  • Experienced in automation framework development & test automation.
  • Extensive knowledge of Unix/Linux environments.
  • Strong knowledge of cryptographic protocols, digital certificates, key management, and TPM integration.
  • Very good with debugging and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in designing, implementing, and managing PKI and TPM infrastructures in enterprise environments.
  • Proficient in using PKI and TPM tools and technologies, such as OpenSSL, Enterprise Certificate Services, TPM management tools, or similar.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and frameworks, such as X.509, SSL/TLS, TPM 2.0, and HSM (Hardware Security Modules).
  • Knowledge and/or hands-on experience in L2, L3; TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS & Proxy.

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.

Base Pay Range
$147,000$210,000 USD
