Job Description:

To support our exponential growth, Zscaler Finance is looking to hire an M&A leader with experience in strategic finance M&A integration after an acquisition.  This Director level role will be a part of the CFO organization and work closely with our Corporate Development team, Finance Integration Lead, Finance Processes/ Transformation organization and senior Finance leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand requirements at all stages of the M&A process including but not limited to due diligence, deal approval and agreement, integration planning and delivery.
  • Work with the corporate development group to develop an understanding of target’s operating model, market opportunity, product, functional structure, and long-term strategic direction of the target in relation to market development.
  • Partner with Corporate Integration Management Office and Product team to understand the acquired company’s business model and our future goals; Align on a strategic finance integration strategy (i.e., new cost centers vs embedded costs, Revenue strategy, Cost profiling, Headcount plans and metric tracking).
  • Understand the details of the transaction and develop strategic plan to track integration of strategic objectives with Day 1, Day 30, Day 90 and 12-month milestones; determine immediate requirements and support prioritization.
  • Assess risk and issues, when strategic finance integration decisions are made; Develop mitigation strategies and action plans for resolution.
  • Represent office of the CFO at the IMO (with Finance Integration Leads) to manage, monitor and track progress of strategic finance integration; Highlight issues and discuss mitigation strategies.
  • Understand the current state of Finance function and work with People & Culture & Finance Integration Lead to develop an interim and long-term organization structure.
  • Identify required talent and provide inputs to retention strategy.
  • Work with Finance Integration Lead to determine duplicate work performed by Finance personnel and develop a plan to eliminate redundancies.
  • Work with FP&A to track progress against the financial model and report on benefits achieved for each M&A transaction.
  • Advise IMO on metrics to track Integration performance.
  • Work with finance integration lead to develop models to measure and report on metrics related to Finance.
  • Work with multiple groups and stakeholders across the organization to determine critical hand-offs between Finance and other functions (P&C, Legal, IT, Product, GTM, etc.).
  • Manage hand-offs and ensure timeliness of information and data exchange between Finance and other functions.
  • Work with IT and Finance Integration lead to develop technology rationalization strategy for financial systems.
  • Create content for communication to other groups – launch weekly updates & newsletters.
  • Use cross functional knowledge to connect the dots for key stakeholders to drive increased alignment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in supporting M&A transactions, due diligence, or other key execution roles such as chief of staff for COO, CFO, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience working in SaaS companies with cloud-based service offerings in security, networking, or connectivity; Operational knowledge of cloud networking and security with ability to drive into product, understand business needs and drive decisions.
  • Experience in providing strategic direction during a merger or acquisition.
  • Knowledge key Finance processes and systems with an understanding of Finance tech stack.
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles as related to integration of mergers and acquisitions is preferred.
  • Knowledge of all stages of M&A process and experience in working with corporate development and Finance function.
  • Strong program management skills, driving integration management, ability to understand process impacts, drive change and leverage collaboration tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment, prioritize task and move quickly among different tasks appropriately.
  • Ability to work in ambiguous environment and provide structure.
  • Ability to garner support and secure buy-in across cross-functional stakeholders.

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.

Base Pay Range
$180,000$220,000 USD
