Zócalo Group, a Division of Critical Mass, is actively seeking a Director to lead our Social Research & Analytics team. Our ideal candidate strives to develop client-centric, target-relevant insights collected from raw research data. This person will work closely with client service and strategy teams to develop key insights that help lead to a clear strategic vision for our integrated social campaigns.

Our Social Research and Analytics team, coordinating closely with our Marketing Science division, brings analytical expertise to social media marketing by informing future planning, identifying present optimization and evaluating past performance. It’s the job of this team to bring the various social listening tools and data sources together in a comprehensive story for strategists and clients to use.


  • Lead the cultivation of insights and recommendations that help clients’ exceed their integrated marketing objects and drive incremental business opportunities 
  • Build on past campaigns to guide innovation and delivery for clients
  • Develop new products and tools for expanding the scope of our research and measurement capabilities
  • Champion the art and science behind market research to deliver insights into consumer behaviors
  • Partner with client services and strategy teams to provide the social and competitive intelligence needed to build smart online programs
  • Manage program execution and implementation; performs quantitative analyses to measure the impact of our programs including paid, earned, and owned channels
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to drive innovation and clients’ businesses
  • Present in client-facing meetings and new business pitches
  • Leverage industry benchmarks and best practices to enhance current program offerings
  • Mentor, manage, and develop an engaged Research & Analytics team


  • Minimum of eight years of marketing, public relations, research or communications experience; minimum of three years of agency and  supervisory experience
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong familiarity with social media and online communities in relation to broader media mix; understanding with the latest research tools and methodologies
  • Innovative thinking and leadership
  • Experience with online research, writing, blogging and other communications
