We are seeking an accomplished and technically adept Staff Engineer to play a pivotal role in our Infrastructure & Data Engineering team. As a senior technical leader, you will drive the architecture, implementation, and evolution of our platform infrastructure, ensuring that systems are secure, resilient, scalable, and optimized for peak performance. This is a builder’s role, requiring hands-on engagement and technical ownership across multiple domains. You will influence strategic decisions, lead complex projects, and serve as a mentor and resource to engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation, security, and operational excellence.

  • Lead Architectural Design and Execution: Drive the design and implementation of scalable, high-availability platform solutions on Azure, ensuring the infrastructure supports mission-critical workflows with optimal performance and reliability. Leverage Azure-native services to architect resilient, fault-tolerant systems that align with best practices for operational excellence and scalability.
  • Establish and Champion SRE and DevOps Best Practices: Drive the adoption of site reliability engineering (SRE) principles to improve system resilience and ensure high service availability. Define and monitor service-level objectives (SLOs) and build automation tools to enhance reliability and reduce operational overhead.
  • Architect Cloud Infrastructure with Security-First Principles: Architect and uphold secure, scalable cloud infrastructure using Azure, with a focus on automation and governance. Drive infrastructure-as-code (IaC) initiatives with Terraform  ensuring all deployments meet high standards of reliability and security.
  • Pioneer Containerization and Orchestration Strategies: Define best practices for containerization and orchestrate scalable data processing workloads using Docker and Kubernetes. Drive the adoption of microservices architecture and establish resilient, distributed systems to support real-time data processing and analytics.
  • Elevate CI/CD and Release Automation: Architect and manage CI/CD pipelines, employing industry-leading practices like Canary and Blue-Green deployments. Enable seamless deployment automation to reduce lead times and ensure reliability at scale.
  • Enhance Observability and Incident Management: Design and implement monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure comprehensive observability across infrastructure and applications. Drive proactive incident management and implement automated incident response to reduce MTTR and enhance service continuity.
  • Mentor and Inspire Engineering Teams: Serve as a mentor and technical resource for junior engineers. Lead training sessions, organize technical deep dives, and champion knowledge-sharing initiatives to elevate team skills and promote a collaborative engineering culture.
  • Drive Security and Compliance Standards: Define and enforce security and compliance standards across infrastructure and data pipelines. Lead security reviews, drive security automation, and embed vulnerability scanning and compliance checks within CI/CD pipelines to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Optimize Infrastructure and Cloud Efficiency: Evaluate and optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency. Drive initiatives to automate resource management, reduce cloud spend, and streamline operations to align with business objectives.
  • Lead Full-Stack Development for Internal Tools: Design, develop, and refine internal and customer-facing applications using front-end frameworks such as Bootstrap, React, and Vue. Engage with stakeholders to deliver high-impact tools that support operational excellence and enhance user experience.
  • Document and Institutionalize Knowledge: Produce detailed documentation and create comprehensive internal wikis covering architecture, data engineering processes, infrastructure configurations, and security protocols. Ensure that organizational knowledge is preserved, accessible, and continually updated.

What you’ll bring to the team

  • Technical Leadership: at least 12 years of experience in high-impact roles focused on infrastructure, DevOps/SRE, and data engineering. Proven track record of successfully leading large-scale cloud-native projects with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Infrastructure-as-Code Expertise: Mastery of Terraform with demonstrated experience implementing complex, secure IaC solutions. Skilled in architecting and governing infrastructure using best practices for maintainability and scalability.
  • Containerization and Orchestration Proficiency: Advanced understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, and distributed systems for large-scale, containerized environments. Skilled in defining standards for orchestration and container lifecycle management.
  • Observability and Incident Response: Demonstrated expertise in logging, monitoring, and observability tools to establish comprehensive infrastructure visibility. Experience implementing proactive incident management and automated response protocols to enhance uptime and reliability.
  • Security-First Engineering: Strong background in implementing security best practices, vulnerability management, and compliance automation within cloud-native environments. Proven ability to drive security-forward DevOps practices and safeguard sensitive data.
  • Mentorship: Experience mentoring and guiding engineering teams. Strong ability to foster a collaborative and high-performing engineering culture through knowledge sharing, technical mentorship, and cross-functional partnership.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and drive alignment across engineering, product, and security teams on complex technical projects.

The annual base Pay Range for this position is $180,000 - $230,000. This range reflects our US national compensation (USN). Additional premium percentages may apply based on our tiered premium strategy.

Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
