About the role

As we continue to scale, execute on our strategy and deliver exceptional experiences to our consumers, merchants and partners the demands and opportunities for our finance functions are becoming more critical and complex and we have a great opportunity to enhance our finance team strategy and financial infrastructure to continue to support our global business to excel.

As such we have a truly unique opportunity to be a leader in our Finance function with responsibilities in Financial Planning & Analysis and success in this role will be key to us achieving our mission of being the first payment choice, everywhere and every day. This role will require not only transformational financial leadership, honed executive partnering skills but also a highly capable people leader who can develop and inspire world class talent and strengthen our capabilities to drive results, process improvements and our future financial systems roadmap.

Reporting into our CFO US , you will partner with the US Finance team, the US Senior Leadership Team and their functions, to provide high quality, proactive and commercially insightful analysis and solutions accompanied by best practice governance and performance metrics to ensure the business tracks and clearly reports financial and commercial objectives. This role is a hybrid position based in the U.S. for employees in our Manhattan, New York office, requiring on-site work 3 to 4 days per week.

  • You will partner closely with our US CFO and the US Finance Management Team 
  • You will interact directly with US executive team and the CEO for the US
  • You will be craving immersion in a disrupting, fast paced, and dynamic environment with endless possibilities for development, growth and success

Key Areas of Leadership and Impact:

  • Executive reporting which is impactful, dynamic and timely
  • Managing internal controls and Governance associated with the role
  • Budgeting and planning
  • Monthly forecast after functional business partner meetings, maintained real time for current TTV forecast / business update items
  • Develop and report on key metrics tied to the financial and strategic objectives of financial mgmt / accounting
  • Visible uplift in look, speed and quality of reporting, along with appropriate insights and recommended actions
  • Ensure operating effectiveness of profitability management and measurement processes, including unit costs, customer lifetime value, customer acquisition costs, merchant profitability and expense control
  • Drive business case development for new products/investments/initiatives
  • Develop new deal approval approach along with proposed pricing guidelines, rates
  • Benchmarking cost base vs industry standard
  • Ensure alignment between individual monthly functional forecasts and Zip US forecast, and clearly document risks & opportunities with accompanying actions
  • Develop relationships with key finance & other cross-functional stakeholders, present as a challenging business partner
  • Financial modelling, budgeting and forecasting to support our longer-term planning and decision making processes inc. forecasting & funding
  • Working on corporate projects and initiatives that impact the entire organization
  • Mentoring, developing, and supporting your team ensuring their growth & development
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with business partners and cross-functional teams

About you

  • Qualified Finance professional with 10+ years’ experience in senior finance roles - including partnering with Group executive level stakeholders. 
  • Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and able to pivot and adapt with a sense of urgency
  • Proven ability to lead & develop a high performing team
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with various management levels, including global executives

  • A clear thinker with demonstrated ability to highlight issues clearly and succinctly
  • Executive and Board reporting & presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to improve internal control processes including financial systems

Zip is committed to a straightforward and transparent pay structure. The actual base salary will be determined by various individualized factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, location, internal equity, as well as other objective business considerations.

The annual base Pay Range for this position is $193,000 - $240,000 USD. This range reflects our *Premium Location band (US2). Different bands may apply based on our tiered premium strategy if residence is outside of the New York Metro - Tri-State area.

Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. 

If hired, employees will be in an 'at-will position' and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
