About the role

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Content Designer II (UX) to join our Product Design team. You are a seasoned UX writer and communicator who loves telling stories around products. The ideal candidate shares our passion for solving real customer problems by crafting simple, straightforward, user-centered experiences. You will leverage your expertise in UX design, design thinking, content strategy, and writing to shape the future of our product offerings.

About the team

The Design team is composed of Brand Design and Product Design teams that work together to define, create, and deliver all customer-facing aspects of the Zip product and brand. Product Designers are strategic partners to Engineering and Product Management within dedicated product areas. In partnership with the Product team, they help define our user-facing experiences across the Zip ecosystem. Our designers are responsible for crafting intuitive and beautiful experiences that our customers and merchants love. By fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and user-centered design, we aim to continue delivering products that make a meaningful difference in the lives of our customers.

Interesting problems you’ll get to solve

  • Develop, implement, and test content and strategies for in-product experiences, including product flows, interface language, education materials, product naming, information architecture, terminology, and other content across our products and experiences.
  • Work closely with product designers, developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure content is integrated seamlessly into the design process.
  • Collaborate with brand, product marketing, compliance, sales, and CX teams to ensure we create consistent end-to-end experiences, including across our communication channels.
  • Give and solicit feedback from your Product Design peers in service of building best-in-class products
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights, validate effectiveness of content, and iterate based on feedback and data.
  • Ensure all content aligns with our brand guidelines and tone of voice, maintaining consistency across different products and platforms.
  • Edit and contribute to designs and content in Figma and other design tools.
  • Create and maintain documentation for content guidelines, style guides, and best practices.

About you

  • You have a proven track record of delivering projects with minimal direction, managing high levels of ambiguity, and thriving in a fast-paced environment.

To help us level up, you’ll bring:

  • 6+ years in UX writing and designing content for web and mobile product experiences.
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects with minimal direction and managing a high degree of ambiguity.
  • Excellent at simplifying and communicating complex ideas to a wide range of audiences.
  • A systems approach to design with experience contributing to and maintaining design systems.
  • Experience using data and research to evaluate your content’s impact.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and set expectations with stakeholders.
  • Experience with financial services and payments products is preferred.

The Pay Range for this position: $129,000 - $165,000 USD based on the industry benchmark for position, function, level and Zip's compensation strategies. However, actual base salary will depend on varying circumstances and individualized factors, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. If hired, employees will be in an 'at-will position' and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
