To achieve our vision, we are searching for a stellar Manager of Mathematics with a Bachelor’s Degree and at least 3 years of experience with a focus on excellent results and conceptual math in a teacher or leadership capacity.
Deliver incredible results
As the Manager of Mathematics, you will develop an innovative curriculum for our growing PK-4 school model. You have the opportunity to join a fast-growing startup school while partnering with a world class team to create a conceptual based mathematics content and training vision that leads to excellent academic results.
Our math curriculum is centered around a vision of conceptual math and knowing that students learn through math exploration and collaboration. This builds a strong foundation of mathematical knowledge that can be applied throughout their educational years. Our units are created from a combination of materials from Contexts for Learning and TERC Investigations. Our goal in science is to develop our students’ core mathematical knowledge and problem solving skills.
Students participate in three math components each day. Word Problems are an opportunity for students to solve real-world problems using a variety of strategies. Math Workshop enables students to learn about new concepts through games and activities they tackle collaboratively and learn through a Math Congress. Math Routines are a series of short activities that students participate in over the course of a few weeks or months that develop their thinking about various math standards.
As a Manager of Mathematics, you will be responsible for:
- Creating and developing math curriculum materials, including unit plans and assessments, in response to student achievement data and to ensure that math instruction is aligned to the Next Generation Learning Standards
- Creating and leading professional development sessions on math curricula and pedagogy for leaders and teachers
- Observe math instruction across our schools to support our leaders in prioritizing next steps for teachers to ensure that nath instruction is implemented at a consistently high level
- Creating systems to ensure leaders and teachers are using data to drive math instruction
