About the role:
The Commercial Finance team is responsible for reporting and analysis, business partnering, and driving growth and profitability in the P&L. Our roles as business partners cover both decision support, financial planning and financial analysis that directly support and influence the business functions.
The role will be part of the wider Commercial Finance, FP&A and Corporate Development team and will be responsible for partnering with the COO and his team, with particular focus on the Commercial, Marketing, Pricing and Business Development teams . This is a highly commercial role and involves driving business performance through accurate, reliable and insightful financial reporting and analysis, to aid business decisions.
What you will own:
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Adding value by maximising Zepz’s cash flow through:
- Revenue growth by supporting capital allocation and prioritisation decisions
- Gross margin by supporting commercial negotiations with our partners
- Contribution by optimising our marketing spend
- Instilling rigour in commercial decision making for new partners, products, markets etc, by ensuring we have adequate frameworks and processes in place, without slowing the pace of execution which is core to our culture
- Having intricate understanding of business performance and future issues
- Leveraging this understanding to provide insightful reporting and forecasting, focused on P&L and Unit Economics, but also for working capital and cash flow
- Working closely with the accounting team to ensure accuracy of upstream financial data (PO process, accruals etc)
- Leading and developing a team of ambitious finance professionals at varying levels of experience
What you bring to the table:
- Qualified Accountant, minimum 8 years PQE (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
- Experience as a senior business partner with proven ability to influence C-level stakeholders
- Familiar with the dynamics of privately held businesses
- Excellent commercial and strategic acumen and understanding of business drivers
- Thrives in fast-paced environment and able to deliver under pressure
- Strong attention to detail
