About the Role
This is an exciting time to join Zeplin! We are building out our data teams and as a senior person joining our insights crew, you will set the tone for driving product innovation and insight with a strong data-driven approach. You will have the opportunity to define our tooling, influence our data stack and create a strong foundation for analytics across the org. Working closely with the data engineering and product teams to help build the strategy by providing data insights around customer satisfaction, usage, growth and operational efficiency.
As a senior member of the team, you will lead experimentation projects (including AB testing), develop automation solutions, run analysis and summarize insights from the vast amount of data captured by Zeplin to help prioritize and drive growth and customer happiness. 
This is a player/coach role with significant hands on IC work. You want come in, get your hands dirty by building some of our critical business and product dashboards and mentor and grow a nascent team. You need to bridge the worlds between immediate term business analytics and long term data science and lay the foundations for doing effective recommendation systems. 
  • Own the analytical tooling used in Zeplin
  • Build key business and product KPI dashboards with rigorous data validation
  • Establish self-service interfaces for business teams to access and derive insights from Zeplin’s data
  • Evangelize and promote best practices in data analytics and interpretations
  • Tell compelling stories from the data
  • Proactively perform data exploration to understand user behavior and identify opportunities for growth
  • Grow a data science function to fuel product recommendations and predictive modeling
  • Deeply understand and empathize with Zeplin’s customers and their journey with the product
  • Advanced degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, or a related quantitative field
  • Proven track record of leveraging massive amounts of data to drive product innovation
  • Deep statistical skills utilized in A/B testing, analyzing observational data, and modeling
  • Experience with distributed analytic processing technologies (Spark, Presto, Hive)
  • Strong programming skills in Python (or R)
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Deep product sense
  • Self-starter
