The Role

As the Creative Director you are responsible for the concept and execution of every marketing content, asset, and campaign. You build and lead our internal Creative Studio as well as external resources to develop compelling ideas and narratives that make Zenjob the most known brand for side jobbers and students. You also support various stakeholders in activating more talents, generating more business partners or improving brand experience. You will report to the Head of Brand.

Zenjob is a Berlin-based jobs marketplace with a goal to empower the workforce of tomorrow with innovative technology. We envision a world in which everyone has full control over their working life. We already enable part-time jobbers to decide when, where, and how to work with just a few clicks. Our service is available in over 30 cities in Germany and with our recent launch in the Netherlands and an upcoming launch in the UK, we want to gradually open up new international markets. Our growth financing round of $50 million (€45 million) from February 2022 will enable us to achieve that. We are using the funds  to accelerate our expansion in Europe, scale our platform, and add new data-based automation features for our rapidly growing customer base.

What you’ll do 

  • Lead the creation of compelling Zenjob creative, from concept to delivery, that supports and reinforces Zenjob’s purpose to “empower the workforce of the future” 
  • Support the development of major 360 Brand campaigns in collaboration with our external creative lead agency
  • Lead the in-house development and execution of compelling content for all Zenjob’s touchpoints and channels across all key steps on the talent and client journey
  • Translate marketing, media and business objectives into clear and engaging creative strategies
  • Effectively coordinate with stakeholders from various departments and markets for their content needs, including (digital) campaigns, services and content for B2C and B2B channels, Social Media, Performance Marketing, CRM, Training & Enablement, and UX /Product teams, ensuring all output matches the Zenjob brand
  • With a hands-on mindset, you manage all creative projects, supervising and guiding copywriters, designers, agencies, and freelancers on all creative topics as a creative lead
  • Responsible for building the capability and managing Zenjob’s in-house Creative Studio, leading a team of 5+ creatives


What you’ll bring 

  • Fluent in English, German is a plus 
  • 8+ years of copywriting experience in an agency or in-house creative team, with proven international creative experience
  • Your portfolio shows stand-out conceptual and strategic expertise across various digital and traditional touchpoints/campaigns and in your daily business – especially B2C/B2B content, social media, and product campaigns 
  • You know how to guide internal and external partners with a concise ability to articulate creative ideas and provide direction to stakeholders from various departments
  • You are experienced in how to manage, develop and innovate a creative team, mainly consisting of copy/content writers, art directors, designers and freelancers
  • You solve tasks strategically, deduce from the big to the small, open up details, put yourself into things, identify needs, implement feedback, and are not afraid to question the existing or to start anew
  • You have a strong creative vision and love to evolve a brand - In bringing creative ideas to life, you are decisive, hands-on, reliable, and enthusiastic


A week in the life

  • Give feedback on ideas and asset executions by the creative team for the next months
  • Discuss agency presentation with Head of Brand for upcoming brand campaign
  • Brainstorm ideas with Social Media team about upcoming projects
  • Create a concept for a performance campaign for different job types
  • Present ideas for Social Media and CRM to Marketing Managers from other countries
  • Assign new PR project to relevant creative team members after aligning with PR Manager on project requirements  
  • Write a headline for a local promotion flyer to support the team
  • Brief freelancers to write a new B2B Ebook
