This role is based out of the Payroll team in Vancouver.  In this role, you will own a key initiative on our upcoming roadmap pertaining to our payments and/or payroll experience for our customers. You will be responsible for product strategy, product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including gathering and prioritizing requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering, design, marketing, sales, and support to ensure goals are met.

  • Research and understand customer requirements.
  • Research and understand competitive offerings.
  • Research and understand operational impacts and needs.
  • Develop a product strategy for product lines.
  • Research and understand cases from customer support, operations, account management, and sales.
  • Translate that understanding into feature specs, and execute the plan with engineers and designers, delivering quality products.
  • Work with product copywriters on content requirements.
  • Analyze web and product usage metrics and come to actionable conclusions from the data.
  • Coordinate smooth product launches with cross-functional teams

Role Requirements:

  • You must have at least 5+ years of product management experience
  • You have a background in payments and/or payroll
  • Risk and Compliance experience in one or more of the following preferred:
    •   - PCI/PA-DSS
    •   - HIPAA
    •   - PIPEDA
    •   - FIPPA
  • Be able to work with geographically distributed teams
  • Direct experience of bank and card payments
  • Have 3rd party integration experience and been through a full implementation cycle of with a financial and/or risk partner
  • Understanding of payments risk is a plus
  • Independently able to lead and drive product build out
  •  Be extremely analytical with an innovative mindset
  • Generates creative solutions that enable innovative ways of executing on organizational opportunities. Guided by company strategy and industry knowledge and trends.
  • Provides technical expertise to executive leadership.
  • Must have a good understanding of API’s
  • Have a bachelors in engineering and an MBA is a plus
  • You possess a “do what it takes” mentality - you have the desire and ability to put prioritize company goals
