Zeel’s CRM Manager will own the email strategy, from leading and directing campaigns to inception and execution, including post-campaign analysis.  S/he will be responsible for growing and maintaining the Zeel customer database through the development of acquisition, retention and win-back strategies. The role will use data, insights and a consumer mindset to drive lifecycle programs and create personalized communications through the email channel. Additionally, s/he will assume responsibility for converting newly-acquired email prospects  into purchasers and/or maximizing revenue opportunities for both the consumer and B2B businesses.  This position reports to the VP, Digital Marketing & Partnerships.


The ideal candidate must have a passion for creating compelling email and push marketing campaigns centered around effective lifecycle management.  


The CRM Marketing Manager will  work in close partnership with key leaders and stakeholders across Creative, Product, Data, Tech, Sales and Ops to execute a company-wide email strategy around customer information flow and segmentation within our databases.  This job is an exciting opportunity for candidates who are strategic, data-driven thought leaders and who thrive in a fast-paced startup.



  • Manage day-to-day email operations with ESP (Braze) and cross-functional teams (eg, product, creative, legal)
  • Maintain health of customer database (eg, inbox deliverability) by tracking reports and segments
  • Build CRM campaigns and series based on customer types (welcome series, gift card, recruitment) for both our in-home and B2B businesses
  • Work closely with the data science team to understand customer segments and drive email strategies
  • Manage production review processes (QA and email testing before live dates)
  • Work closely with internal creative team to manage and optimize effective email design
  • Design (with creative team) and optimize email marketing automation journeys for timely & relevant communications
  • Develop an ongoing marketing calendar for email, triggers and mobile (SMS and push notifications) communications including (1) messaging, (2) testing/optimization, (3) segmentation, (4) creative requirements and (5) frequency for CRM campaigns
  • Execute test strategies around key email components such as subject lines, timing, audience and creative segmentation, and frequency to drive stronger performance of email channel
  • Create benchmarks and track performance across email and push performance and member list value
  • Compile, track, and analyze email performance KPIs and make recommendations to existing campaigns based on this analysis and drive increased revenue
  • Support B2B Sales and Ops department to execute both acquisition and retention-based programs and develop strategies for lead generation
  • Collaborate with product and tech teams on testing customer journey, user flow and landing pages
  • Maintain expert knowledge of email marketing trends and best practices, deliverability, technologies and CAN-SPAM laws
  • Oversee and manage vendor relationships including Braze email automation platform



  • Required: 4+ years in email marketing, building and delivering successful CRM marketing lifecycle campaigns
  • Proficiency in working with Braze platform or other campaign management tools
  • Understanding of multi-channel marketing strategy (email, mobile, etc)
  • Strong experience in CRM and consumer analytics with a proven track record of implementing effective omni-channel communications
  • Experience with key industry trends, email best practices, and B2C web technologies
  • In-depth understanding of Google Analytics, conversion metrics and other data and performance marketing measurement criteria
  • Expertise with customer segmentation, engagement marketing, targeting, and database marketing methods
  • Strong organizational, communication and project management skills
  • Innovative and creative thinking and ability to make quick, fact-based decisions
  • Ability to be hands-on and work in a dynamic and fast growing environment  
  • B2C/ B2B experience required, preferably in the ecommerce space
  • Strong collaborator as this person must work cross-functionally with the creative, product, tech, ops and sales teams
  • BA/BS, preferably in finance, business administration or marketing or other relevant fields
