About the role:

ZAVA has been in the forefront of the digitisation of healthcare in Germany for over 10 years. On the 1st July 2021 we did the first TI e-prescription. We are building the best, most efficient telemedicine platform for both the patient and the healthcare professional - initially in Germany, later in the rest of Europe.

Over the last years digitisation of the German healthcare system has picked up dramatically ePA, KIM, E-Rezept, eAU, TIM, MIOs - more and more new standards are being developed and introduced.

In this role you will be integral in watching and influencing the development of the Telematik Infrastruktur in Germany and building solutions that allow our systems to harness it in order to achieve our goals.

Top 3 things we are looking for:

  • You are keen to understand and be involved in the digitalisation of the German Health System, from reading specificifications to influencing the next evolution of these standards on a technical level.
  • You have extensive experience in engineering and architecture and can help to build business solutions on top of these standards by developing POCs and/or working with the team
  • You are a strong communicator that can represent us and our goals externally and also drive the internal alignment to these goals.

Day-to-day the work will encompass:

  • Break down a new TI specification, understand and communicate the impact and potential for us as a business - how can we harness it for our Telemedicine Management System?
  • Actively participate in networking and specification groups in the German healthcare tech market.
  • Write a POC that shows how we can utilise a new standard.
  • Collaborate with Engineering as an German healthcare interoperability domain expert.
  • Break down business initiatives and goals into solutions that evolve our platform architecture by being involved early in ideation and planning.
  • Support in aligning communication between the teams to have commercial, ops as well as other tech teams (Product, UX, Data, Infrastructure & Ops, Security) to have a common understanding and language to discuss about the solution.
  • Collaborate with Engineering as an german healthcare interoperability domain expert.
  • Drive an awareness of company, business and project vision / bigger picture to ensure individual solutions achieve these goals and still do the job.
  • Achieve the best balance between taking opportunities towards a strategic technology platform and urgent tactical solutions that are not over engineered.
  • Fail fast; For example the team supports make-or-buy decisions or help in rapid prototyping to improve velocity and smart iterations.
  • Ensure that an appropriate solution which is suitable for given time and budget is defined, scoped, documented and validated across several teams.

For this role you need to:

  • Have at least 10 years of experience working in technology, especially engineering
  • Extensive knowledge of programming languages, frameworks, databases and architecture. You still are hands-on.
  • Deep understanding of FHIR / HL7 and the ability to read and understand specifications of official standards (Gematik, KBV etc). Ideally TI experience.
  • Proven experience in breaking down business requirements into functional and nonfunctional requirement and be able to map them to strategy initiatives
  • Be a strong communicator and collaborator, with the ability to communicate with engineers as well as business stakeholders and other functions; making complex topics easy to understand.
  • Agile mindset - breaking down big programs into a series of mile stone deliveries
  • Defining technology roadmaps
  • Be a pragmatic practitioner, able to balance long-term technology direction with a pragmatic focus on delivering business value fast and often
  • German and English at full professional proficiency

It would also be advantageous to have experience:
