About the role:

The Senior Data Analyst at ZAVA will ultimately be responsible for understanding, and helping others to understand, how to optimise our product for our users and the business.

They’ll create tools and dashboards that break down the key drivers of product performance in interpretable and actionable ways. They will help define our KPIs and end-to-end customer flows, and drive performance against them, by surfacing insights, supporting tactical decisions and influencing the product strategy with a compelling evidence-based narrative that’s engaging to both technical and non-technical people alike.

Day-to-day the work will encompass: 

  • Leading a collaborative problem-solving process to define meaningful, relevant and easily understood KPIs around product performance
  • Building end-to-end product dashboards that bring these metrics to life
  • Collaborating with other team members to better understand user behaviour through experimentation and testing. Provide support on A/B and multivariate testing and other best-practice analytical techniques during the feature development process
  • Identifying tracking requirements to enable accurate reporting / measurement. Work with our developers to get these implemented
  • Helping to develop and maintain our business intelligence tool (Looker) by adding new metrics in line with emerging areas of business interest and product development
  • Analysing changes in product usage and performance to generate insights and communicate these to stakeholders
  • Inspiring others to love and use data through effective storytelling
  • Presenting insights and opportunities in a clear manner such that product design is based on objective evidence wherever possible

For this role you need to: 

  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with data warehouses (preferably in AWS)
  • Confidence in managing senior (C-suite) stakeholders from across the business
  • Attention to detail - being able to identify anomalies in the data and spot trends before anyone else
  • Proven experience working with web tracking tools (Segment/GA)

It would also be advantageous to have experience:

  • Experience with Looker
  • Experience with marketing tools (AdWords, GTM etc)
  • Mentoring analysts (whether in a formal or informal capacity)

Your line manager will be: Head Of Data & Insights

  • Introductory call with Talent Team (15 mins)
  • Screening call with hiring manager (30 mins)
  • Technical Exercise (1 hour) followed by a Panel Interview (45 mins) consisting of:
    • A Product Manager
    • A Marketing Manager
    • Member of the People Team

Core working hours

Our core business hours are 10am - 4pm. How you make up the rest of the hours, to make a total of 40 hours per week, is up to you!
