What will you do?
- Strategic Execution and planning - Align teams with product strategy and goals. Contribute to the long-term vision and roadmap of the product, ensuring alignment with team efforts.
- Team Leadership: Align teams with product strategy and goals, fostering high-performing Agile teams to deliver top-quality products.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to teams of software engineers or software engineer leads, driving a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Product Development and Delivery: Break down product concepts into actionable items, manage product backlogs, and ensure the delivery of high-value, complete, and quality products in an Agile practice with the help of product managers and product delivery managers.
- Instill end-to-end ownership of products, projects, features, modules, and services that you and your team deliver in all phases of the software development lifecycle.
- Continuous Improvement and Collaboration: Drive improvements within group and facilitate cross-functional/technical collaboration with other engineering leads, supporting quarterly planning and strategic activities.
- Establish outcomes and key results (OKRs) and successfully deliver them. Drive improvements in key performance indicators (KPIs). Increase the productivity and velocity of delivery teams.
- Technical Involvement and Governance: Determine and develop best engineering practices and ensure adherence to architectural standards and portfolio governance.
- Performance and Career Management: Support individual career development, manage team performance, and address project impediments and risks as they arise.
- Capacity and demand planning - Work with the respective Product Managers, Operations for the future capacity
Minimum Requirements
- Experience in engineering lead position where you have inspired others to reach their potential
- 10+ years of experience in software development, must be from product and/or SaaS organization.
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in CS, or a related technical field
- Experience leading the software engineering teams using modern software delivery processes and tools
- Excellent communication skills across a diverse range of audiences
- Demonstrated project management and interpersonal skills
- Ability to understand technical and business trade-offs and to effectively communicate them to stakeholders
- Proven track record of delivering high quality systems and software that bring value to users.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and manage stakeholders’ expectations
- Experience building and developing engineering teams that exhibit strong ownership, user empathy, and engineering excellence.
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies, modern technology topics and frameworks, and developer operations best practices.
- Cross functional team scaling experience in modern product development methodologies/models
- Experience in Cloud Native technologies and patterns (Cloud components API Gateway/Workflow orchestration/Serverless applications)
- Strong experience with Continuous Delivery principles and related tools (Kubernetes, GitOps)
- Strong experience building CI/CD pipelines, Maven and solid understanding of SCM using GIT/BitBucket
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to address complex technical and non-technical challenges.
Additional Experience that would be nice to have
- Hands on experience in Java Design Patterns, distributed computing and modular application design
- Advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL
- Working experience with and good understanding of event streaming technologies and eventual consistent architectural patterns (Kafka, Redpanda)
- Experience with designing and building event driven, multi-threaded, high volume data processing applications.
- Hands on experience in OpenAPI design
