Yubico is looking for a full time web application developer to join our web development team who will develop and maintain customer-facing sites such as the www.yubico.com site and our e-commerce system. This role will require you to work directly with Yubico.com stakeholders in a highly collaborative environment. Our current website platform is WordPress/WooCommerce with some custom integrations, but as we consider alternatives you will play a key part in the process of defining and/or implementing the next platform based on our growing needs.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain www.yubico.com and other customer-facing websites
  • Develop and maintain Yubico’s e-commerce system, including payment gateways, tax, and shipping systems, in collaboration with the E-commerce Manager and Operations team
  • Update web application components
  • Create automated tests for ensuring the quality of all of your work
  • Be part of an on-call rotation to respond in case of web application malfunction
  • Optimize Yubico’s websites for performance and availability
  • Develop components with deep respect for the privacy of Yubico’s users with impeccably high security standards

Skills & Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience with developing responsive websites using HTML, CSS, and some Javascript
  • 2+ years of experience with WordPress theme, plugin, and WooCommerce and/or Magento development
  • Experience using, supporting, and debugging PHP and MySQL applications
  • Experience working with enterprise level e-commerce platforms, preferably dealing with physical goods, international taxes, and international shipping from multiple distribution centers
  • Experience with HTTP/REST APIs and integrating with existing systems
  • Working knowledge of distributed source code management usage in a physically diverse team environment, preferably using git and Git Flow
  • Experience working with global teams — especially US/Europe with flexible work patterns

The following are nice to have:

  • Some college is likely required, but we’re more more interested in your accomplishments, website acumen, experience, motivation, and ability to work well with others. 2+ years and a BS in a relevant field (or equivalent work experience)
  • Proficient with Linux, HTTP, and web caching
  • Experience writing scripts in any of the following; Bash, Python

  • Location: Palo Alto, CA, US
  • Hours: Full time Monday through Friday, with the opportunity to work remotely 1-2 days a week and 1 week out of 5 on-call in case of emergency.
