Job Title – Analyst - Sport Media
DAY-To -DAY Responsibilities -
- Support more senior colleagues with the management of complex projects and manage smaller ones independently or as part of a small team.
- Create searches and use bespoke media information tools to find relevant data. Collect, collate and interrogate data to tell a story to clients.
- Report writing; perform advanced media valuation analysis and calculations in Microsoft Excel, using functions such as pivot tables, vlookups, IF formulae and data filters.
- Data analysis: looking into trends and identifying potential discrepancies and errors.
- Report production: producing bespoke analysis and reports for clients; creating a clear narrative from the data that enables the client to make data-driven decisions.
- Coach and support junior analysts where applicable.
- Proofreading fellow analyst’s reports, suggesting pertinent improvements to the written insight and presentation of data.
- Adhere to data management quality control processes to ensure accurate, consistent and a compliant delivery of data.
- Maintaining dashboards and databases with the correct, most recent data and information.
- To provide support to the Client Services team on ad-hoc projects.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Collation of secondary media data through targeted bespoke searches
- Analysis of broadcast data, making logical and accurate estimations where appropriate
- Preparation of data, making decisions regarding extrapolation and methodology application.
- Uploading of data to proprietary dashboard
- Perform data validation and verification checks, quickly addressing any discrepancies
- Report writing, pinpointing key insights and building on analysis to explain emerging trends
- Advising managers and team members of any scheduling issues.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS - Excellent analytical skills with the ability to approach and solve problems.
- Proven track record of managing multiple projects and hitting deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
- Enthusiasm for day-to-day writing of evaluation reports and data analysis across a broad range of media.
- Experience in the media evaluation sector (in particular sports media) is desirable.
- Passionate about professional sport
- Microsoft Office experience essential, including Excel to a high standard (i.e. vlookups, IF formulae, pivot tables and data filters).
- Possess a good, clear writing style and understand different uses of tables, charts and commentary.
- Effective communication to senior management level.
