Job Summary:

The Payroll Accounting Analyst will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll, as well as maintaining payroll records and ensuring compliance with tax laws and internal policies. This position will play a key role in payroll accounting, reconciliations, and reporting to support financial reporting accuracy and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of payroll processing, general accounting principles, and a keen eye for detail.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Payroll Processing:
    • Process bi-weekly or monthly payroll cycles accurately and on time.
    • Manage payroll data collection, validation, and adjustments.
    • Manage employee inquiries regarding payroll-related matters.
  • Reconciliations & Reporting:
    • Perform payroll account reconciliations and variance analysis.
    • Prepare and post payroll journal entries to the general ledger, per need basis.
    • Reconcile payroll-related balance sheet accounts (e.g., payroll clearing, taxes, benefits).
    • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of payroll-related financial data.
  • Tax and Compliance:
    • Manage and reconcile payroll taxes and deductions, including garnishments, benefits, and retirement contributions.
    • Maintain compliance with company policies, government regulations, and SOX internal controls.
  • Data Analysis & Continuous Improvement:
    • Analyse payroll data and financial impacts, offering insights and recommending improvements.
    • Support automation and process improvement initiatives within the payroll function.
    • Collaborate with HR, and other relevant teams to ensure alignment on payroll matters.
  • Audit Support:
    • Support internal and external audits by providing payroll data and reports.
    • Assist in preparing audit schedules and documentation for payroll and accounting-related audits.

 

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • 5 years of experience in payroll processing or payroll accounting.
    • Experience with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Workday) and accounting software (e.g., SAP, NetSuite).
    • Familiarity with SOX compliance and internal control procedures.
  • Skills:
    • Must have excellent English language skills (Verbal and written communication) and must be open to work in UK Shift
    • Strong understanding of payroll processes, and accounting principles.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).
    • Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle confidential information.
