We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Facilities Operations Manager (Global) to join our London office. This role offers an exciting next step for a seasoned multi-site Facilities Manager eager to advance their career. In collaboration with the Director of Real Estate and the Global Head of Facilities, you will play a key role in supporting YouGov's dynamic growth in the years to come by leading and optimizing our worldwide facilities operations.  

You will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing key vendor relationships, and implementing cost-saving measures, while driving ESG initiatives with a focus on sustainability and energy efficiency. Your knowledge and expertise will be crucial in elevating health and safety protocols, ensuring compliance with global standards, and enhancing space management to create an outstanding workplace experience.  

In this high-impact role, you will work closely with global teams to align facilities operations with strategic business objectives and foster strong stakeholder partnerships. You'll be joining an ever-growing Global Facilities team with peers based all around the world, making it a truly global role.  

 

Responsibilities:  

  • Manage and monitor the day-to-day operational activities of the team 

Vendor and Supplier Management:  

  • Strategically evaluate, select, and manage vendors and suppliers globally, overseeing critical areas such as maintenance and operations, administration, and accounting. 
  • Implement robust contract negotiation strategies, cost saving measures, and stringent SLA adherence. 
  • Introduce a vendor performance scorecard system to enhance accountability and service quality. 
  • Conduct a comprehensive vendor risk assessment, mitigating potential risks and ensuring business continuity. 
  • Regularly review all contracts with a goal to achieve cost reduction through renegotiation of major vendor contracts. 

ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance):  

  • Lead the development and execution of department’s ESG initiatives, focusing on energy management, sustainability, carbon reduction, and single use plastic reduction as agreed with the ESG team. 
  • Establish departmental key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the success of ESG programs. 
  • Manage global annual carbon footprint data collection to support reporting 
  • Oversee implementation of ISO14001 standards in the UK and develop roadmap to align the environmental management system globally 

Health and Safety:  

  • Drive health and safety programs to the next level, encompassing ergonomic solutions, occupational health measures, fire safety protocols, and first aid preparedness. 
  • Ensure a proactive approach to compliance with global health and safety regulations and industry standards.  
  • Develop and execute a facilities risk management plan in the health and safety area 
  • Conduct a comprehensive audit and update health and safety protocols to meet or exceed global standards. 

Occupancy Management:  

  • Introduce innovative occupancy and space management strategies, utilizing working arrangements and space utilization across the globe. 
  • Regularly review market trends and strive to enhance the employee experience through workplace design and social engagement initiatives. 
  • Conduct regular workplace surveys, addressing feedback and achieving a 90% satisfaction rate. 

Office management and operations:  

  • Assume full responsibility for the office operations and seamless continuity of office as well as remote locations. 
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align facilities operations with overarching business goals. 
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with local stakeholders, government entities, and leaders, ensuring outstanding communication and collaboration. 
  • Act as a liaison between global facilities team and local teams, addressing concerns, , mitigate risks and foster positive partnership. 
  • Implement a stakeholder feedback mechanism, addressing concerns proactively. 
  • Accountable for providing first-line support for office-related queries and front-of-house services in local offices 

Team Management:  

  • Lead the facilities teams, setting ambitious objectives and key results (OKRs) aligned with organizational goals. 
  • Conduct in depth performance reviews, mentorship, and skill development initiatives to foster a culture of excellence. 
  • Manage and monitor the day-to-day operational activities of the team   

 

 Qualifications:  

  • Proven and substantial experience in senior leadership roles within global facilities operations, demonstrating strategic vision and impactful decision making. 
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills with a track record of leading high performance teams. 
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with a global mindset. 
  • In depth knowledge of industry best practices, compliance standards, and emerging trends in facilities management.
