Job title – Revenue Recognition - Accountant
Come join our Finance Centre of Excellence (CENX) in Mumbai. The Finance Team already has an established CENX at Mumbai. Reporting to the Finance Revenue Manager Mumbai city, this role will support the YouGov group in accurately recognizing the revenue correctly.
The role requires a good understanding of order to cash processes such as invoicing, collections, account receivables, order management, sales order review, order processing and order fulfilment. It also requires knowledge on how to report on revenue under IFRS 15.
What will I be delivering?
- Using the IFRS 15 checklist, approve sales orders for US, UK, Europe, Canada and LATAM
- Identify multi element deals, calculation of fair valuation and submitting the fair value impact on reporting dates.
- Month end Revenue closing entries and adjustment entries.
- Balance sheet adjustments between contract assets, liabilities and deferred revenue offset adjustments.
- Ensure the SOX controls in revenue process are followed.
- Working on key projects to review contract assets and liabilities balance on periodic basis to ensure reported balance are correct.
- Identify potential opportunities for system automations in Revenue Process.
- Building relationships with regional Finance Teams and the Sales Operations team to establish ways of working
- Prepare monthly revenue dashboard & MIS reporting.
- Support in various internal & external audits.
- Support with sales invoices and cash application

What do I need to bring with me?
Demonstrated knowledge and experience
- 5 or more years of experience of accounting domain
- Knowledge on revenue accounting is preferred.
- Experience of using NetSuite and Power BI preferred
- Attention to detail to ensure accounting entries are correct
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong service orientation/responsiveness
- Excellent Excel skills
- IFRS experience preferred
- Ability to draft papers to justify accounting decisions
- Experience of process improvement
Technical skills and qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related disciplines
- Inter CA or CMA or Diploma in IFRS preferable.
