Here’s a summary of the role:
YouGov has an exciting opportunity for a mid-level commercial lawyer (PQE 5-6 years) to join our vibrant and dynamic legal team supporting YouGov’s global business.
You’ll provide strategic legal counsel to YouGov’s APAC business region. You’ll be responsible for a wide range of legal and commercial matters, from drafting and negotiating contracts to advising on corporate transactions.
Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll do (not all of it, just the important stuff):
What you’ll be delivering:
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts pertaining to the global business transactions of the YouGov Group.
- Researching national, international and local laws to identify applicability to YouGov’s business.
- Advising on master service agreements and general terms and conditions (both YouGov’s templates and third-party versions).
- Advising on key supplier contracts.
- Providing guidance to colleagues on legal risks and contracts.
- Drafting and reviewing data processing agreements and data sharing agreements and liaising with the Group Data Protection Officer on general data protection matters.
- Working with the Governance Team on compliance matters, including risk management and company policies and procedures.
- Working as part of a dynamic legal team with a high level of autonomy.
These are the essentials you’ll need to get an interview:
- Qualified lawyer with current practicing certificate.
- Experience in drafting, negotiating and advising on commercial contracts.
- A pragmatic and commercial approach to identifying risk with the ability to present alternatives and propose solutions.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong IT skills and experience using a variety of IT including communication tools and databases.
It would be great if you had these to, but we’ll support you if you don’t:
- Employment law knowledge.
- Experience in the marketing, media, tech, advertising and/or publishing industry.
