The Marketing Business Affairs Manager will be critical in the identification of core needs from internal and external partners as the Marketing team scopes, plan, and executes projects that include external partners. This role will report to the Director, Marketing Operations in Austin, TX. The Marketing Business Affairs Manager must flex between critical and strategic thinking and be able to anticipate the immediate and future needs of marketing and how that impacts business agreements and contracts. This role will be highly cross functional while working closely with Procurement, Legal, Finance, Marketing, and external vendors.

Responsibilities:

  • Set and manage marketing business agreements with internal and external partners
  • Ensure we have a streamlined contract management system in place for all marketing agreements
  • Research, clear, negotiate and issue contracts/licenses as needed for music, photography or other copyrighted material
  • Act as a change agent to champion new processes/tools within the organization
  • Develop process to track usage terms and expiration dates of all assets with related third party permissions/rights
  • Coordinate billing, approve and process vendor invoices
  • Assist with research to ensure proper clearance for all final creative
  • Facilitate key meetings, own agenda creation, and translate content into agreements when necessary
  • Work collaboratively with Procurement, Legal, and other key partners to consolidate work streams and drive efficiency and effectiveness
  • Provide clear and consistent communication across the project teams, and leadership when needed
  • Identify new processes and procedures to improve business affairs workflows

 

Qualifications and Attributes:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • At least 6 years’ of contract management experience within marketing and/or ad agency experience, preferably in the consumer goods industry
  • Proven experience with contract and agreement development within marketing
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and a strong sense of urgency and follow-through
  • Outstanding communication and problem-solving skills
  • Proven relationship builder with diverse stakeholder groups
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects at once in a fast-paced, results oriented environment
  • Desire and ability to be a team player who appreciates a unique, entrepreneurial and collaborative environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Resourceful self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity
  • Energetic, friendly and self-motivated attitude
