About the Job
We are looking for an experienced risk professional to lead our Risk Policy and ERM function. This role will lead the identification and development of Risk Policies at the group and entity level as well as help us set up a strong Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) process at the group level.
Xendit group consists of multiple, diversified business lines and entities across the region which cover a variety of business models and product offerings from online and offline payments to lending to consumers and businesses to e-wallets and banking as a service. Strong risk management and governance is imperative for the safety of the company as well as all our stakeholders. An extensive suite of robust risk policies is important for good governance and is also a regulatory requirement in many countries. Understanding the inherent risks in each business line and function within the company and tracking their impact at group level is essential for the senior leadership to be effective. It also helps to foster trust with our partners and provides the basis for many of our decisions.
There are two key areas that fall under the scope of this role.
First, you will lead risk policy drafting and developing associated procedures to operationalize the policies. This includes understanding the problem statement that a policy seeks to cover, then drafting a policy that helps illustrate the organizational risk appetite. You will also need to coordinate with country offices and other internal teams to ensure that the procedures are adjusted and executed in accordance with the policy.
Second, you will set up the group Enterprise Risk Management function which will include setting up the risk registers across various business lines and functions, running the group Risk Committee meetings, and tracking and reporting on risk metrics and remediations.
The role will require extensive coordination with multiple teams across Xendit and you will act as the Risk point-of-contact for all policy and procedure related matters for multiple senior leaders and their orgs. You will also be the primary point of contact for Sales and Growth and other teams interested in onboarding new merchants, opening up new verticals or geographies, and expanding the scope of services.
You will interface directly with senior leaders in the company on risk related matters and with the group Risk Committee and help the leadership identify residual risks and track their mitigation. You will work closely within the Risk team and with other operations teams in Xendit to define and implement risk related procedures and train the agents across multiple geographies.
This is a high visibility role which will require strong communication, a good grasp of risk fundamentals, an ability to adapt and be creative, and a lot of patience in dealing with multiple stakeholders.
