About the Role

xAI is seeking a full-time Protective Intelligence Analyst to join our Protective Intelligence Team within Corporate Security. This role will focus on identifying and assessing threats to xAI’s most valuable assets and will assist in addressing a high volume of concerns in a rapidly changing threat environment. This position is ideal for a motivated analyst who enjoys the intersection of Investigations, research, and analysis. 

Responsibilities

  • Assist in an emerging insider threat program, using various software tools; work closely with HR and cybersecurity on assessing risk. 
  • Monitor and triage potentially threatening communications from social listening tools and other sources. 
  • Conduct research, analyze data, reach conclusions, and make recommendations on investigative cases. 
  • Utilize commercial databases and open-source investigative tools for threat assessments and background security reviews. 
  • Assess the validity and capability of risks and prioritize based on targeted violence fundamentals. 
  • Synthesize investigative data and findings with broader trend research to provide context for stakeholders. 
  • Draft, design, and disseminate professionally written products to stakeholders. 
  • Communicate effectively with all levels within the company 
  • Assist with various forms of physical security risk assessments. 
  • Assess the security posture of potential vendors or partners to ensure they meet xAI's standards for data protection and operational security. 
  • Educate various internal departments about risk, fostering a culture of security awareness throughout xAI. 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Data Science, Security Management, Business, Economics, Finance, or relevant experience. 
  • Minimum of 2+ years conducting online and open source investigations or security analysis; formal training like Certified Threat Manager (ATAP CTM) is preferred 

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills. 
  • Experience with social listening and monitoring tools, experience with Ontic is a plus. 
  • Proficiency in creating and refining advanced boolean search query
  • Ability to align security needs with company values, and federal, state, and local law.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (SharePoint, OneDrive, PowerPoint, Excel), MISP, Navig Ontic, and Slack. 
  • Understanding of global geopolitical and social issues and threats.
  • Ability to create programs and standard practices to drive intelligence standards throughout the organization.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends as needed; flexibility is key 
  • Willingness to travel as required (up to 10%).
  • Physical Requirements: Light. Prolonged sitting, typing, and conducting analysis by reading computer screens.
