As a Staff Software engineer at Wrike you will work in the technical (internal) teams enabling the product development teams by developing internal tooling, supporting the complexity of the solution and improving the quality of the code.

This is a great opportunity for you if you like to have freedom in technical decisions. You can have an impact on the whole engineering team, and you will get to work with one of the best developers we have at Wrike.

This role works under no mentoring and may be responsible for providing coaching, guidance, and training to others in the job area.

More about Your team

This particular internal team is mainly focused on increasing development efficiency, reducing the solution complexity and maintaining architecture quality. It’s a new team of professionals aiming to rethink current approaches of software development in Backend. 

How You’ll make an impact

  • Through the technical research of improving current solution maintainability. We have both architectures - monolith and microservices, so the goal is to make both solutions easy to read and modify
  • Through the implementation of tools for maintenance and control of architecture quality. We already use different tools like PMD, ArchUnit and want them to be consistent and reliable
  • By refactoring of current architecture and code, including most complex parts to reduce cognitive and cyclomatic complexity
  • Through the development and implementation of approaches to keep architecture clean. Application of industry standards like low coupling, high cohesion to our solution
  • Via Knowledge sharing to increase developer skills and knowledge in the scope of technical quality and architecture

You will achieve your best if you have

  • a minimum 7 years of prior relevant development experience
  • Java and Postgres expertise
  • an experience of big improvements in the scope of software architecture, software development processes and technical quality.
  • advanced communication skills in English
  • ability to work in the team of staff employees: argument your decisions, achieve win-win agreements, etc.

You will stand out with

  • a passion for building and design software architecture 
  • University Degree in SW Engineering
  • Experience with agile software development
