As the Communications Manager, you will immerse yourself in the execution of client’s campaigns ensuring quality at every step. You will be responsible for managing your communications team to deliver best in market amplification presentation and negotiations that drive the client’s budget hard.

Measures of success –

In three months:

  • Leader of regular client & agency team WIP’s to ensure the highest level of communication is delivered internally and externally
  • Create Planning and Implementation documents that deliver on strategy via clear innovative media recommendations.Be empowered to develop go-to-market planning and implementation strategies, delivering on all client objectives and smashing benchmarks
  • Work with Client Service Director, Comms Trader and Coordinator to develop detailed communication plans ensuring accurate planning costs and information
  • Manage the writing and presenting of Final Buy, Mid buy and post reporting

In six months:

  • Develop strong relationships with clients, creative and media partners to ensure integration flows between all partners
  • Engage with our media partners to drive innovation and efficiency. Be responsible for delivery of innovative communication solutions that amplify the creative idea and surprise & delight the client
  • Seek innovative ways of using the mediums to increase effectiveness for the campaign
  • Lead and direct all team members so they can support you in the development of media concepts, plans and the implementation of buys
  • Develop integrated relationships with all of Ikon's specialists to ensure cohesion on briefs
  • Deliver insightful input & leadership into all training forums and internal Ikon programs

In twelve months:

  • Have a thorough understanding of client’s business and internal pressures and adapt services accordingly.
  • Responsible for overseeing the development of Communications trader/planner & Coordinator skills including facilitating training outside of group responsibilities
  • Responsible for the writing and presenting of quarterly market reviews to client in combination with Client Service Director and Investment Director


Responsibilities of the role:

  • Create planning documents that deliver on strategy via clear innovative media recommendations, ensuring quality control processes are properly adhered within deadlines
  • Lead and direct all team members so they can support you in the development of media concepts, plans and the implementation of buys
  • Ability to utilise all research planning tools across trading and planning to ensure communications plans are recommended to highest quality 
  • Ensure planning skills are channel agnostic 
  • Work with Traders to ensure all planning costs are reflective of benchmarks, trading strategies, and contractual agreements
  • Ensure all planning ideas are delivered through the trading process
  • Manage the writing and presenting of Final Buy, Mid buy and post reporting
  • Service client’s daily to ensure work is flowing and clients are happy and updated
  • Manage the realistic expectation regarding the delivery of work to clients
  • Maintain up to date category knowledge on market trends, and research findings locally and internationally
  • Lead by example. Embrace and maximise value of all industry tools and Ikon proprietary software systems and sell value of systems to clients.
