Reporting to the Managing Director, FinancePlus USA (FPUS), major responsibilities include the monthly close process and the Group’s adherence to risk and control processes. Currently manage a staff of 8 employees with potential for growth.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide leadership and management of the Accounting/Finance team, responsible for recruiting, training, motivating, and developing the needs of the team.
  • Manage the monthly control process; responsible for SOX adherence, internal, and external audit support and coordinating both financial and IT audits.
  • Partner with the business units to continuously improve the services, accuracy, and timing of the monthly close.
  • Coordinate the preparation of financial statements, financial reports, special analyses and metrics.
  • Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization.
  • Work with WPP Tax to ensure compliance with all tax reporting requirements including income tax, sales and use tax, and BEAT.
  • Manage general ledger processes and procedures including creating and posting journal entries and performing account reconciliations.
  • Provide environment in which outside auditors from clients, tax authorities and WPP can perform their duties in an efficient and successful manner.
  • Provide strong customer service to all agencies.
  • Define and monitor service levels of the shared services center and continuously work to improve performance.
  • Ensure handling of complex issues and escalate as needed.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain systems, procedures, and policies to ensure adherence to company and Group guidelines.
  • Work with WPP treasury to ensure proper access is administered across the group and security measures are upheld.
  • Assist in the preparation of the FPUS Budgets, Forecasts and Strategic Plan.
  • Participate in the Company’s Performance Management Process by establishing goals and providing on-going feedback to support recognition and improvement as it relates to employee development.
  • Assist in any additional ad hoc projects as directed by the Managing Director, FPUS.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and CPA required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of functional and operational management experience with a focus on process standardization and improvement, strong command of IFRS, SOX controls and process management.
  • Excellent interpersonal/communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong management skills with the ability to influence, manage and mentor teams internally and across different disciples.
  • Strong client service orientation.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic and changing work environment and work in cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent professional judgment, tact, and decision-making ability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to multitask while maintaining a calm and composed demeanor.

Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications.
