WPP’s business integrity programme is an integral part of ensuring our policies, procedures and control environment are understood and adhered to across all geographies and markets. The investigations team, which sits within WPP’s business integrity function, focuses on the identification, corroboration and remediation of risk and compliance concerns within and affecting WPP. This role will champion compliance with all relevant laws and regulations and support culture and behaviour aligned to our ethical standards as set out in the WPP Code of Business Conduct.
What you'll be doing:
This role (based in either Mumbai or New Delhi) with coverage of APAC, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), would suit a person with a background in forensic investigations (including interviewing and digital review) and experience of in particular ABC risks. Experience of financial crime, supply chain risk, cultural risks, whistleblowing, control environments and investigation records management will be required for this role.
This role will report to the Head of Investigations based in London, your responsibilities will include:
- Investigating whistleblowing reports
- Investigating breaches of the WPP Code of Business Conduct and other ethical codes
- Investigating breaches of external laws, regulations and codes applicable to agencies in the regions
- Supporting the Head of Investigations in ensuring all issues are thoroughly and promptly investigated and remediated
- Collaborating with other WPP and regional departments in pursuit of the objectives of the role
- Reporting areas of concern and identified root causes arising from the work performed
- Contributing to training programmes for WPP staff in the region as required
What you'll need:
- Significant forensic investigative experience, preferably with some experience in financial crime, with the ingenuity and persistence to obtain information when it is not readily available
- Demonstrated ability to interview senior individuals who are subject matter experts
- Experience in using e-discovery systems and creating targeted digital review structures to efficiently analyse large volumes of data
- Ability to deliver investigation results in a commercial environment via strong written and verbal presentation skills
- Skills and experience in working with whistle-blowers and sources to obtain information appropriately
- Problem solver – able to work without predetermined programme in order to identify and solve issues
- Knowledge of chain of evidence procedures and how to ensure the confidentiality of sensitive material
- Ability to manage and prioritise a large and varied case load effectively and efficiently to achieve positive results
- A professional background, with an accounting qualification (or equivalent) or legal qualification beneficial
