In this role you will be a member of the Workday Services Team supporting and maintaining our Workday Data, your role will grow as we further deploy and expand our Workday coverage both geographically and capability. Reporting to the Workday Technical Manager this role is accountable for ensuring that WPP’s Workday data is maintained, controlled, and loaded as required by our internal standards and business partners, plus as required work on mergers and acquisitions projects.

This flagship programme will see Workday deployed across our global landscape to address the technology needs of Finance, Projects, and our People function – so essentially it touches all of our employees to some degree. The key to this programme is that technology is an enabler for change, it’s at the heart of what we do, but it’s not all of what we do. The people aspects of this programme are vital to its success. This role will help deliver that success on an ongoing basis for many years to come.

What you'll be doing:

  • Responsible for the people and process management of global teams supporting Workday Data
  • Responsible for day to day running of data support, prioritizing data changes and assigning incidents
  • Review data changes and assign incidents across the team while troubleshooting and resolving the most complex support issues in a timely manner adhering to WPP Service Level Agreements
  • Run the Workday merger and acquisition process and co-ordinate with other teams to complete the process
  • Maintain expertise on data standards/functionality/features/capabilities in Workday, wider industry, and technology trends
  • Review each new Workday release for impact on data upload EIBs in use and the M & A process
  • Analyse incidents raised to identify common themes, identify areas of improvement and implement strategies for failure prevention
  • Responsible for maintaining up to date data and associated processes documentation

What you'll need:

  • Workday HCM or Financials/PSA data experience, knowledge of Financial processes
  • Experience of managing teams, ability to delegate effectively and communicate well
  • Experience of mergers and acquisitions from a data take on perspective
  • Exceptional data experience including SQL, databases, Excel, data manipulation and validation
  • Experience developing data conversion and validation rules in master data tools
  • Ability to understand business requirements and turn into clear deliverables
  • Manage small projects with multiple teams involved and track work against plan
  • Delivery and customer focused, with high energy and drive
  • Strong risk awareness skills and management of risk
  • Creative solutioning and strong problem-solving skills with agility for fast and simple solutions
  • Credibility, professionalism, and strong personal integrity
  • Advanced English fluency
