As we continue this journey. Cloud Transition Manager will lead project governance to drive Cloud Hub support coverage expansion, to remove dependency and costs for 3rd party services attached to onboarding activities.  The function will promote centralised management of Cloud assets and ensure strategic tooling is installed on all customer supported workloads for monitoring, observability, security, compliance, and controls to operate effectively. The role will report to Cloud Adoption and Onboarding Lead and work closely with Cloud Onboarding Technical Lead, Cloud Onboarding Engineer, Opco technical owners, and Cloud Hub M&O.

 

What you'll be doing:

  • Develop and manage a comprehensive project plan for workload onboarding, outlining tasks, timelines, and dependencies.
  • Allocate resources effectively to ensure the successful execution of onboarding tasks and activities.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including Cloud Engineers, VM Owners, and other relevant teams, to ensure alignment on project goals and requirements.
  • Establish and maintain communication protocols before, during, and after onboarding processes, keeping all stakeholders informed of progress and potential challenges.
  • Identify and assess potential risks associated with workload onboarding and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Address and resolve issues encountered during the onboarding process promptly, collaborating with technical teams and stakeholders.
  • Ensure the quality and completeness of onboarding activities, adhering to established standards and best practices.
  • Manage change requests related to the onboarding process, coordinating with Change Manager and relevant teams to assess and implement changes effectively.
  • Monitor the performance of onboarding activities, tracking key metrics and ensuring adherence to established benchmarks.
  • Oversee the documentation process, ensuring that relevant information is captured, maintained, and updated in documentation repositories.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization in onboarding workflows, incorporating lessons learned from each wave.
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews to assess the success of onboarding activities, gather feedback, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide regular reports to senior management and stakeholders, summarizing progress, challenges, and key metrics related to onboarding initiatives.
  • Ensure that onboarding activities adhere to established timelines and deadlines, adjusting plans as needed to meet project objectives.
  • Monitor and address client or internal customer satisfaction, ensuring that their expectations are met or exceeded during the onboarding process.
  • Ensure that onboarding processes adhere to relevant regulatory compliance requirements and security standards.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance and Operations (M&O) teams to facilitate a seamless transition for ongoing support and operations after the onboarding phase. 

What you'll need:

  • Strong understanding of Cloud technologies and Cloud Native tools
  • Cloud Foundations Azure, GCP and AWS
  • Basic understanding of Cyber security tooling
  • SAFe Agile practitioner
  • Knowledge of ITIL practices and change management processes.
  • Proficiency in project management tools like Jira, Trello, or Microsoft Project.
  • Proficient in generating reports and analytics related to onboarding progress, key metrics, and project status utilizing tools such as Power BI and Excel.
  • Beneficial to have relevant certifications: AZ900, Google Business Leader, AWS Foundations, PMP, CBAP, PMI-BA, PRINCE2, ITIL
  • Leadership: Ability to lead and guide teams through complex onboarding processes.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication with stakeholders, team members, and third-party entities.
  • Risk Management: Skill in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with onboarding projects.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and unexpected challenges.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to address issues and roadblocks during onboarding.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams and stakeholders for project success.
  • Negotiation Skills: Negotiate effectively with stakeholders and third-party entities to resolve issues and conflicts.
  • Decision-Making: Make informed and timely decisions to keep the onboarding process on track.
  • Time Management: Efficiently manage time and resources to meet project deadlines and objectives.
  • Customer Focus: Maintain a customer-centric approach, understanding and addressing client needs.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and align onboarding activities with broader organizational goals.
  • Influence: Ability to influence team members, stakeholders, and third-party entities to support project goals.
