You will provide hands-on QA, Test & Release Management leadership for all implementations, releases, and upgrades. While being responsible for ensuring a clear and detailed testing structure is followed while producing Test Approaches, Test Plans, and completion reports. Testing will cover all phases of the SDLC, specifically focusing on SIT (including technical testing), UAT (working with the business users) and regression testing. You are also responsible for managing the release cycle through all environments and streams, including owning the Release and Environment schedules. 

Reporting to the Global Head of the QA Hub within the Cross Platform Services team, this role will be working in the WPP Open stream. It will be responsible for managing the Test & Release analysts and partner resources within your team, whilst working with and supporting the wider team. 

What you'll be doing:

TESTING
•    Managing & Owning Test Strategy: Definition of Test Delivery Strategies, ensuring key milestones are achieved, quality standards are achieved, risks are identified, communicated & mitigated.
•    Execute regular testing procedures and test cases to assess the overall functionality and performance of the Platform. Identify and report any defects or issues, and work closely with the development team to ensure timely resolutions.
•    Verify that new functionalities added to the Platform align with the defined requirements and specifications. Ensure that any new feature implementations do not negatively impact existing setups.
•    Create comprehensive and well-structured test cases to validate the functionality of new features added to the Platform. Document test results and provide clear and concise feedback to the development team.
•    Test Features for Presales: Collaborate with the Presale Team to understand the specific requirements of each pitch. Test and validate that features developed for presales work as intended and align with the clients’ needs.
•    Take ownership of configuring the Platform while preparing it for the presale pitch meeting. Ensure that all necessary components and data are correctly set up to showcase the Platform’s capabilities effectively.
•    Work closely with the business teams driving presales to understand their needs and timelines. Adapt to changing requirements and prioritize tasks accordingly.
•    Continuous monitoring & improvement of all supported processes, including proactively identifying opportunities for improving the overall quality and efficiency of the presale process. Suggest and implement enhancements to testing methodologies and tools.
•    Build and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders, at all business levels, including senior management, client and supplier level

RELEASES / ENVIRONMENTS
•    Define and plan Programme / cross-workstream environment usage
•    Coordinate acceptance of tickets with all teams
•    Work to guarantee smooth, predictable, and timely delivery of Rollouts/Releases
•    Determine the readiness of each release based on release criteria, quality of release and business/system readiness.
•    Ensure validation of all releases to Production environments, to ensure releases are successful, without issues impacting End Users (including smoke testing release out of hours)
•    Arrange Releases to test environments e.g. Extensions, Reports, MPLs
•    Ensuring environments are ready and available to support the existing Programme and BAU activities

What you'll need:

•    Experience of complex, high volume web applications, including technical & performance/load testing
•    Proven Experience of successful delivery of multi stream deliveries in a complex global organisation
•    Strong Test Management skills, covering full SDLC
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
•    Detail-oriented with a keen eye for identifying issues and inconsistencies.
•    Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
•    Python experience, Pytest for Back End tests
•    Typescript experience, Playwright for FE tests
•    Knowledge of Postman and similar requests tools
•    Good knowledge of Git and experience in using Github/Gitlab
•    Strong Reporting and Tracking skills
•    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both with technical and non-technical audiences
•    Strong team leadership and line management experience
•    Strong Release Management skills
