YOUR ROLE IN A NUTSHELL:

The Media Reconciliation Team Leader contributes to the success of WPP AUNZ through the completion of exceptional and highly detailed reconciliations resulting in accurate account payments being processed in a timely, efficient and effective manner. The contribution of this role to the success of Finance is through the provision of exceptional service to our clients, enabling them to effectively manage their business relationships and finances / cash flow.

WHAT YOU WILL SPEND YOUR TIME DOING:

The Media Reconciliation Team Leader is responsible for the media account reconciliation process which includes; identifying, tracking and resolving discrepancies between invoices received and bookings loaded into our systems, and compiling invoices due for payment in the monthly payment run. The role requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail to ensure the high volume query resolutions are addressed to a high standard and in a timely manner.

Media Reconciliation Team Leader is responsible for team management including, escalation of complex media reconciliation issues, mentoring, developing and guiding team members in their allocated group.

The key responsibilities of this role are as follows:

  1. Team Management
    • Lead and manage team members
    • Act as escalation point for complex queries
    • Coach and mentor team members
    • Train new team members on media reconciliation processes
    • Master data base management for user and approver updates on the SMD account query system

  2. Reconciliations
    • Own portfolio of accounts as agreed with management 
    • Process media reconciliations
    • Process monthly payments runs
    • Analyse creditor payments made to ensure accuracy
    • Liaise with media buyers and media owners regarding discrepancies and work with both to resolve these
    • Support ad hoc and continuous improvement projects driven internally by Finance initiatives

  3. Team Membership
    • Demonstrate and encourage a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration
    • Participate in regular performance conversations
    • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; and establishing personal networks 
  1. Transforming our processes:
    • Continually challenge existing processes with the aim of Identifying process improvement opportunities
    • Regularly review existing workflows to identify opportunities for the automation of processes

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Extensive Media Reconciliation experience
  • Previous experience in coaching and mentoring junior team members
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to build relationships and work in a team environment
  • Sound and extremely accurate data entry
  • Intermediate Excel skills desirable
  • Prior experience working with an ERP, electronic workflow solution or SMD is desirable
  • Well organised with the ability to prioritise workloads and take personal responsibility for own work outcomes
  • Flexible attitude and a desire to be part of a team
  • Sound numerical skills
  • Strong attention to detail
