We provide on-demand, scheduled, and historical aerial data and analytics from sensors deployed to the stratosphere with persistent coverage, higher resolution, and increased value over traditional aerial and space imagery sources.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will work on the design of new and existing high-altitude balloons.
Work cross functionally with Engineering and Design teams to develop new and existing products
Reviews design specifications and project requirements
Evaluates performance issues through troubleshooting and failure investigation
Creates detailed design schematics through the use of design software
Field testing flight hardware with assistance from the operations team
BS in Mechanical Engineering
Understanding of Mechanical Engineering processes through internships, projects or work experience
Proficient in the use of Mechanical Design programs such as SolidWorks
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience working with Aerospace materials
Experience with high altitude balloon design
MS in Mechanical Engineering
