Hospitality Server staff are responsible for providing a quality guest experience by properly serving guests meals and refreshments throughout the day. Under the direct supervision of the Director of Operations/AGM and Hospitality Leads, the Hospitality Server will perform various duties at the Surf Ranch facility both guest facing and non-guest facing. This includes serving meals, clearing dishes, interacting with guests, and maintaining the bar. This role also takes direction from the Cooks and Sous Chef to ensure quality of food and to communicate guest requests and food allergies to the chef.


Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Ensure the timely delivery of all food and beverage needs at Surf Ranch
  • Serve and remove food & drink and remove dishes after use
  • Track any dietary requirements of guests
  • Work with Chef, Cook and Kitchen staff to prepare and deliver meals to guests
  • May be required to assist with beverage and meal preparation
  • Manage beverage and meal preparation on days when no Executive Chef is on staff
  • Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of visitors
  • Maintain cleanliness and general upkeep of Surf Ranch facilities
  • Serve food & drink to guests as prepared or approved by the Executive Chef
  • Involvement in guest recovery post surf session
  • Ensure guests have everything they need post surf session
  • Ensure all kitchen areas are clean, free of clutter, and presentable to guests before, during, and after each day
  • Maintain cleanliness and general upkeep of Surf Ranch facilities
  • Overtime may be required

Experience and Qualifications

  • Experience setting up commercial kitchen operations
  • Experience with ordering systems and delivery logistics
  • Ability to interact and cater to guests ranging from no previous surf experience to expert level surfing ability
  • Experience in “5-star” resort services environment
  • Food Handler card preferred

Working Conditions / Physical requirements (if applicable)

  • Physically able to wipe down table tops, chairs, and booths; able to pick up debris from floor; able to carry 25 or more pounds; able to push vacuum or mop
  • Physically able to stand and move during the length of shift; able to bend and kneel through shift.
  • Ability to work outdoors, in all weather conditions
