The WSL is a truly global sports and media company with regional offices in Australia, Asia, Africa, North America, South America, and Europe.
In 2016, Kelly Slater Wave Company (KSWC), joined the WSL as an innovative wave technology company. KSWC is the first to develop a formula that combines cutting-edge science, engineering, and design to create the longest, open-barrel, high-performance wave in existence.
In 2018, WSL announced the creation of WSL Studios, focused on being the home of live competitive surf content and the premier place to create short-form, TV series, documentaries and feature films oriented around surfing, surf-lifestyle and ocean conservancy.

The Associate Manager of the Partnerships team is a crucial role within the organization. This person will be on the front lines of managing partner relationships, while also working with the various internal teams to deliver against each and every Global and North America partner agreement. This person will also be responsible for maintaining and updating all internal team documentation - ensuring all internal stakeholders are aligned against deliverables, deadlines, etc.
This role reports directly into the VP, Partnership Marketing. Based on business and team priorities, the successful candidate should be based in Los Angeles, California, in a hybrid working environment. This role will include three days in-office (El Segundo).
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
Account Management
Support AM team through management of all internal documentation, ensuring the relevant information is shared cross functionally and that each dept is 100% aligned with team deliverables across all WSL touch points. Management of team calendar and weekly touch points with each dept. Actively manage accounts
- Establish strong and collaborative relationships with assigned clients, building a comprehensive understanding of each client’s business and their goals.
- Ensure execution and delivery of all contracted deliverables, coordinating with relevant internal departments/stakeholders, including Broadcast, Social Media, Events & Activations, Media and Tours & Competition

Works under the supervision of the Surf Ranch Sous Chef and Kitchen Supervisor. The cook is responsible for assisting the culinary team on the execution and preparation of menu items, receiving and processing deliveries, cleaning, and supporting the culinary department as requested by Chefs, Hospitality management, and people leaders. The position is responsible for ensuring quality meals and service for Surf Ranch guests during their stay. The Cook should familiarize themselves with the guests that are coming to visit Surf Ranch and be knowledgeable of any dietary or allergy restrictions.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness in the kitchen facilities meeting company standards and health code regulations
- Prepare food/maintain facility in accordance with company and health code regulations

Under the guidance of the Operations Manager, the EVS team upholds a professional and positive image of the property by maintaining clean and comfortable shared spaces throughout the site. The team is responsible for daily cleaning of assigned areas, back-of-house spaces, and common areas, following established cleanliness standards, while also engaging with guests in a courteous and helpful manner to positively represent Surf Ranch.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Vacuums, sweeps, mops, and cleans flooring in common areas and employee spaces
- Scrubs, disinfects and deodorizes bathtubs / showers, toilets, wash basins, wastebaskets, tile and other bathroom and / or vanity fixtures and furnishings in the common areas and employee spaces.

Summary:
The Hospitality Lead is responsible for deliverables related to guest services. This includes management of the Hospitality Servers and Bartenders of Surf Ranch. The Hospitality Lead will report directly to the Director of Food & Beverage.

- Ensure the timely delivery of all food and beverage needs at Surf Ranch

Under the direct supervision of the Surf Ranch Operations Manager and with the extension of direction from the Facilities Director. The Operations Tech is responsible for the overall maintenance and preventive maintenance of Surf Ranch facilities, ensuring tasks get completed on time. This position keeps the location clean and maintained in all areas. This role will perform work with a high degree of accuracy and skill maintaining the overall appearance of the grounds, which results in a safe well-groomed environment. The role must have a thorough understanding of all facilities and equipment, systems and be able to communicate effectively to overseeing Lead(s) and Manager(s).
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Perform minor repairs and maintain equipment in proper condition using basic hand and power tools; report the need for additional maintenance and repair; keep records of work performed.
- Providing maintenance support for property as directed.
- Maintaining the condition of the overnight accommodation (airstreams & cabins).
- Servicing the hot tub, bicycles, work truck and other equipment at Surf Ranch as required.

The Senior Manager of Communications is a crucial role in the WSL Communications department and is responsible for focusing on and amplifying the WSL’s corporate, business, and athlete initiatives. This position collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, partners, and stakeholders to develop and implement external and internal communications plans to promote key narratives and increase global awareness, with a prioritization on the US market.
This role reports directly into the VP, Global Communications. Based on business and team priorities, the successful candidate should be based in Los Angeles, California, in a hybrid working environment. This role will include three days in-office (El Segundo).
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Build global PR strategy/roadmap around the WSL’s key assets, including WSL Tours and its athletes, and WSL brand initiatives.
- Identify opportunities and pitch stories to further WSL’s key narratives and profiles in the press
- Key focus is generating press coverage through heavy pitching efforts to drive maximum awareness, particularly in the US, for mainstream media across target segments including, but not limited to: mainstream US news, sport, lifestyle, entertainment, and key thought-leaders.

- Experience with Google Suite (or comparable across Powerpoint, Excel, mid-level skills).
- Working knowledge of Creative Software preferred (Adobe Creative Suite).
- A flexible schedule is preferred, as nights, weekends, and holidays may likely be required.
- Experience in live sports, action sports and/or surf is highly desirable, as is a passion for surfing.

Surf RanchSite Safety OfficerWaveCo. Lemoore
The overall safety and security of Surf Ranch is critical to the site, staff, and guests visiting Surf Ranch and the Site Safety Officer (SSO) will be responsible for this undertaking. Under the direct supervision of the Surf Ranch Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) Manager, the Site Safety Officer at Surf Ranch will work to keep Surf Ranch safe and secure at all times. This position will be responsible for all vehicles and patrons that arrive and depart Surf Ranch daily. The security of Surf Ranch is critical and can directly affect the overall guest experience. The Surf Ranch Site Safety Officer must have a thorough understanding of the Surf Ranch property lines and all entrances and exits on site. The Site Safety Officer must understand areas of the property that are less secure than others and to monitor those areas accordingly.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Interface with guests and employees as they enter Surf Ranch through the service and main entrances.
- Identify guests as they arrive and ensure that they have an invitation to be onsite.
- Patrol Surf Ranch on a consistent basis.
- Monitor the perimeter fence throughout the day and night.
- Intervene and resolve security threats or issues as they arise.
- Guard position will most likely be the first visual touchpoint upon guest arrival so friendliness, and good attitude are important per Surf Ranch ‘guest service trail’.
- Assist with overnight accommodation check in and out processes.
- Understand the Surf Ranch property lines, easements etc.
- Understand the Surf Ranch security/ emergency evacuation plan.
- Knowledge and understanding of facility locations.
Experience and Qualifications
- Ability to resolve conflict when necessary
- Ability to activate the 911 system and request local law enforcement if necessary
- Ability to work different hours of the day including overnight shifts
- Basic Security training
- Prior Security experience preferred
