Position Overview

The SEO Team Lead position takes on the day to day personnel management and client relationship functions for a small team of analysts and supports the Director of SEO. 

About You

  • 3+ years experience of a demonstrated ability of leading a team of 3+ analysts. 
  • Demonstrated ability with enterprise clients with respect to:
    • Building strong relationships
    • Prioritizing workload independently
    • Managing high-complexity clients with support of team
    • Creating insightful, actionable, clear, and accurate insights for client strategies and reports independently
    • Leading client meetings independently
    • Delivering advanced training
    • Meeting deadlines
  • Exceptional and courteous written, verbal, and visual communication skills
  • Communicate independently and effectively with various audiences
  • Advanced analytical capabilities; independent in advanced analysis and insights (e.g. Google Analytics and third party tracking software)
  • Consistently mentors junior team member by providing constructive feedback and advanced training as needed to elevate team member technical, content, and communication capabilities
  • Understands and supports leadership vision and change management 
  • Proactively initiates managerial learning by reading WD recommended management materials and participating in WD management training courses
  • Regularly identifies and implements initiatives that push the team and the division forward
  • Advanced to Expert level skills in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, particularly in Excel and Google Sheets

What You’ll Do

  • Define personal and professional development goals for each team member, and track progress towards reaching them
  • Coach team members on industry best practices, new tools, and cutting-edge measurement techniques
  • Mentor team members by serving as a sounding board for strategic development and providing support through implementation
  • Conduct effective 1:1s and quarterly check-ins with each team member, providing feedback as appropriate
  • Oversee the strategies and tactics developed by team members to ensure client objectives are met and exceeded within the scope of the SOW
  • Proactively monitor clients’ KPIs and guide team members to make data-driven optimization decisions. Take ownership of client performance, meeting and exceeding client expectations independently
  • Identify new opportunities for clients to meet their business goals
  • Effectively lead the annual Workshop Digital Discovery and Strategy Process
  • Proactively check in with clients to gather feedback and ensure client satisfaction, retention and growth; correct issues in a timely manner
  • Develop relationships with all clients on their team and prioritize relationships when needed
  • Attend and participate in meetings/calls with priority clients
  • Create and present insightful, meaningful, accurate reports and analysis independently
  • Coach team members on communication, prioritization, project management, and problem solving skills
  • Execute the Workshop Digital client flag process and resolve accordingly
  • Provide Quality Assurance and continually improve internal setup, management, and reporting processes
  • Develop and help execute custom SEO strategies across technical, content and offpage SEO
  • Generate and plan content for clients including blog ideas, articles, or any other formats
  • Conduct comprehensive SEO audits across technical, content, and local
  • Ensure team members go the extra mile for our clients
  • Facilitate collaborative discussions and share meaningful information that advances the team
  • Work with Director of SEO to determine staffing needs and lead interviews for new team members 
  • Support client development by assisting with RFPs, presentations, and SOWs
  • Identify, approve, lead, or delegate special team projects in collaboration with the Director of SEO
  • Promote cross-team partnerships and identify new opportunities to partner
  • Identify opportunities for potential case studies and coordinate with marketing for case study development
  • Keep abreast of the latest organic marketing trends as well as projections for the future
  • Identify potential threats, changes in landscape, industry updates, and potential opportunities for client accounts
