So, what will your new role look like? 

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Manager, Business Development to lead our dedicated sales team focused on building outbound pipeline for Workleap. In this pivotal role, you will not only exceed quarterly pipeline quotas but also play a critical part in shaping our business development strategy to achieve ambitious revenue targets. Your primary responsibilities will include leading and mentoring a team of Business Development Representative, ensuring they surpass their individual quotas and keeping them highly engaged by adding value.  

Key responsibilities: 

  • Exceed Quarterly Pipeline Quotas: You will lead by example, setting the standard for your team by consistently exceeding quarterly outbound pipeline targets. 
  • Team Leadership: Manage and inspire a high-performing team of BDRs, fostering a customer-centric approach and cultivating a culture of excellence. 
  • Talent Development: Recruit, nurture, and develop a team of passionate, coachable, and inquisitive sales professionals who share our commitment to success. 
  • Sales Team Development: Develop the team through regular training sessions, skill-building workshops, or mentoring programs. Build development plan for each BDR. 
  • Outbound Sales Strategy: Develop, implement, and execute outbound sales strategies that align with organizational goals, enhance sales activities, and improve key performance indicators. 
  • Coaching and Training: Provide ongoing coaching to your team, guiding them in prospecting and sales best practices, pipeline management, and lead handling to ensure higher opportunities creation. 
  • Sales Process Enhancement: Continuously refine and optimize the sales process and playbooks to increase efficiency and effectiveness. 
  • Forecasting: Offer reliable and data-driven pipeline forecasts to the Director of Sales to aid in decision-making. 
  • Team Engagement: Maintain and enhance a high level of team engagement. 
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Demand Generation, and other departments.

You will lead a team of 5 highly motivated sales representatives, each dedicated to delivering value through prospective sales efforts. Your team's geographical reach spans across the globe, ensuring you'll have a global impact.

To fully capitalize on this momentum, we must structure our outbound motion, define clear processes and guidelines, develop playbooks to create standardized approaches for different scenarios, and implement scalable strategies to ensure our efforts can grow sustainably. By doing so, we’ll be well-positioned to achieve our ambitious growth targets. 
  • Optimizing cross-sell through strategic customer prospecting: With nearly 20,000 customers in our portfolio, yet only a small fraction utilizing more than one product, we recognize a significant opportunity for growth. Effective cross-selling through strategic prospecting will be pivotal to our success. By identifying and understanding the needs of our current customers, we can position our diverse product offerings more effectively. This targeted approach not only promises to enhance customer satisfaction but also stands as a central initiative for this year’s growth strategy. It’s an essential step towards leveraging our existing relationships to maximize product adoption and drive business expansion.  
  • Building a feedback loop: To drive innovation and shape the future of Workleap, we need a robust feedback loop with our marketing and product team. This challenge involves establishing a seamless channel for your team to relay customer insights, needs, and pain points to our product development teams as well as the marketing team. By nurturing this feedback loop, you'll actively contribute to the ongoing enhancement and innovation of Workleap products and messaging. 

Qualifications 

  • Sales leadership: Prior Business/ Sales Development Leadership Experience (2 years+) at tech/SaaS company;
  • Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in leading a Business Development team, with a proven track record of exceeding targets; 
  • Sales coaching: Recognized as an exceptional sales coach, fostering a culture of high performance among your team; 
  • Scientific approach: Proficient in testing multiple outbound strategies with a scientific approach, highly organized and process-oriented; 
  • Data-driven: Obsessed with data, with a proven ability to create, analyse and forecast CRM data;
  • Effective communication: Capable of articulating ideas, numbers, and challenges both to the leadership team and your team; 
  • Performance Reviews: Skilled in leading 1:1 pipeline reviews, performance evaluations, and growth discussions; 
  • Adaptable and resilient: Thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, and rapidly changing environment; 
  • Tech-Savvy: Ideally, you are comfortable with Hubspot, Gong, Usergems and 6Sense.
