Job Description

So, what will your new role look like?

We believe SEO only works well when it’s played as part of the team sport that’s digital marketing. You’ll partner with our content team, web developers, and many other fantastic marketers.

We’re looking for a true SEO nerd—someone obsessed with learning and experimenting, tools, measurement, and understanding the internet.

You won’t need to sell the value of SEO to anyone here; you will, however, be tasked with assessing the current state, devising a sound plan, and communicating the development of your plan as it unfolds.

We’re in an exceptionally competitive field, and we have big goals. Our SERP landscape is no walk in the park—it’s filled with strong competition from big players. We’re looking for an SEO leader with the desire and drive to help us dominate the search landscape for our portfolio of products.

As our SEO Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our digital footprint and driving organic growth in the form of leads and new customers. Reporting to the Manager of Search & Media, you'll be at the forefront of developing and executing comprehensive SEO strategies that propel our brand forward. But this isn't just any SEO gig - it's an opportunity to make a real impact, work on multiple exciting products, and chart the course for our future success.

Through a combination of experience, deep understanding, testing, learning, and relentless execution, you are expected to:

  • Profitably drive leads and new business from SEO activities. We’re working for leads and customers, not vanity metrics.
  • Define and drive our overall SEO vision, strategy, and execution in collaboration with the marketing team and key stakeholders across the organization (sales, customer success, and RevOps to name a few).
  • Build our SEO machine and serve as our in-house SEO Guru.
  • Relentlessly manage and rigorously measure the performance of your strategy — progress, ROI, opportunities, threats, etc. Own our SEO analytics, monitoring, and tools.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends in SEO and incorporate them into your SEO strategy.
  • Be a steward of our SEO and a guardian of our website performance.
  • Lead the charge in scaling our content production efforts, from ideation to execution, ensuring that our content ranks high and resonates with our target audience.
  • Dive deep into technical audits, keyword research, and on-page optimization, leaving no stone unturned in our quest for SEO supremacy.
  • Collaborate closely with our Paid Media team to ensure a holistic approach to search strategy and maximize our impact across all channels.
  • Set SEO performance goals, measure the main KPIs, and regularly report on progress.

What does your future team look like?

The SEO manager will be part of the Demand Generation team.

The Demand Generation team is comprised of several experienced Paid Media Strategists and Digital Marketers. Our team is responsible for our portfolio of HR and IT products.

The SEO manager will also work very closely with our content team and will rely on the expertise of the digital experience team for website updates and modifications.

You will also have access to a budget and external support as needed.

Qualifications

  • First and foremost, you're about execution. You get stuff done. You're not here to build fancy presentations about strategy and step aside— you're here to roll up your sleeves and make things happen;
  • You're not scared to get your hands dirty. Whether it's sending link-building outreach emails, rewriting a heading, adding dozens of internal links, or diving into technical SEO tasks, you're willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done;
  • Note: we believe in leveraging time, so it’s probable we’ll want to find resources to help you execute, but we still want a roll-up-your-sleeves-type SEO leader;
  • You're a student of SEO, actively participating in online communities, subscribing to newsletters, and brainstorming with peers. While you understand best practices, you're not afraid to challenge the status quo and bring your own insights to the table;
  • You crave to understand the customer, their journey, and the infinite paths that can take them from search engines to your website;
  • You’re always running experiments. You've experimented with generative AI in SERPs and have thoughts on how this technology will shape the future of SEO;
  • You're an SEO tools whiz, with a deep understanding of industry-leading tools like SEMrush, Ahrefs, Google Analytics, and Google Search Console;
  • You have strong technical and analytical skills. You know your way around WordPress, structured data/schema.org, URL structure, website architecture, canonical URLs, contextual links, HTML, sitemaps, and Robot.txt;
  • You can quickly build a dashboard in Looker Studio (or another data visualization tool), turning large amounts of data into valuable insights for anyone in the marketing team or in a leadership position;
  • You can clearly articulate the value of your SEO strategy to the team and leaders. You know when to speak SEO and when to speak business;
  • You demand excellence and thrive in an environment where others do the same. You're committed to achieving results and making a real impact;
  • You have at least 5 years of hands-on experience in SEO management, preferably in a B2B environment.
