Responsibilities

We are looking for an exceptional Senior Data Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be a key member of the Business Technology organization with the focus on data architecture and business intelligence developing our enterprise data warehouse. You will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and building data pipelines and services, while contributing towards the evolution of our data platform as a strategic asset for driving business decisions across Workato.

This is a highly impactful role and you will work extensively with product management teams and GTM teams to translate data requirements into actionable self-service data products. You must  have a deep background in data engineering and a proven track record of solving complex data problems and designing long-term solutions. The ideal candidate should have passion for problem solving using engineering and data, thrive in an evolving environment, bring an enthusiastic and collaborative attitude and be an effective communicator capable of driving resolutions and improvements. We take pride in our product and this role will be a Workato evangelist and demonstrate how Workato can effectively help companies with their data integration and ETL/ELT needs across a broad set of industries.

You will also be responsible to:

  • Own data assets and data pipelines that provide actionable insights into customer, product, GTM, and other key business functions

  • Design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and transformations using data from a variety of engineering and business systems (e.g., Salesforce/CPQ, NetSuite, Marketo)

  • Collaborate with Data Architects and business teams to improve data models that feed business intelligence tools, increasing data accessibility and drive adoption of data warehouse

  • Gain familiarity with internal data consumptions tools and develop data models, data sets to work seamlessly and optimally

  • Implements processes and systems to manage data quality, ensuring production data is always accurate and maintain SLAs

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent years of experience related technical field

  • 5+ years of data engineering experience building, working & maintaining data pipelines on big data environments

  • Demonstrated experience in designing and building highly scalable Data warehouses, Data pipelines, Data Modelling at fast growing SaaS companies

  • Strong understanding of engineering methodologies, analytical and problem-solving, design principles and agile methods

  • Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases (Snowflake preferred)

  • Familiarity with BI tools (Tableau, Looker, ThoughtSpot, Sigma Computing) and data access management is a plus

  • Ensure Workato is used throughout our data warehouse architecture and collaborate with our product team to make it the leading data integration platform to manage ETL/ELT workloads

  • Excellent communication, collaborative demeanor and ability to work in distributed, multi-functional teams with the ability to articulate a point of view
