Responsibilities

We are looking for a Director of Product Analytics and Data Science. This is a remote role, and candidates based anywhere in USA, Russia, Portugal, Barcelona or Singapore are welcome to apply! In this role, you will be responsible fo:

Reliable billing metrics usage reporting for customers 

  • Ensure the accurate reporting of product consumption data vis-a-vis tasks, recipes, connections across workspaces, environments, and customers 

  • Deliver full visibility of subscription plans, add-ons purchased, reporting and visualizations for trends, and tools for usage analytics 

  • Develop product communication for usage trends and alerts for anomalies to keep customers up-to-date 

Reliable billing metrics usage reporting for internal GTM and CS teams

  • Serve Workato actionable data insights, experiments, and quantitative research across product, marketing, growth, revenue, engineering, and support. 

  • Partner with GTM team leaders and BT teams to understand their product usage data needs and challenges 

  • Work with the engineering, product analytics, and BT teams to manage the end-to-end process: 

  • Create a roadmap and define the scope of projects for product usage insights - Work with product/engineering to ensure we’re collecting the right data and organizing analytical schemas for self-service reporting 

  • Drive the development of the required data pipelines, data models, and datasets

  • Implement rigorous checks and processes to deliver high-quality data to give GTM teams utmost confidence in the insights 

Analytical infrastructure for experimentation 

  • Create full-cycle analytics experiments, reports, and dashboards using SQL, R, Python, or other scripting and statistical tools 

  • Present in key meetings and business reviews with our executive team and founders 

  • Create the required data pipelines for collecting data from multiple sources like Salesforce, Pendo, Google Analytics, and product DB 

  • Build a self-service analytic infrastructure using Snowflake, Thoughtspot, and other tools for PMs to run experiments, and analyze results 

Reliable product usage metrics for PM and Engineering teams 

  • Join a cross-functional leadership team of Design, Tech, and Product leaders and deliver sophisticated learning strategies focused on driving growth through content experiences 

  • Build datasets and analytical reports that provide insights on the usage of product features, capabilities, trends 

  • Lead integrated requirements and build a system of record for product usage insights 

  • Support our machine learning efforts to enable more personalization, engagement, and growth so we can better serve our customers 

  • Identify emerging trends in work automation, and share with leaders, GTM teams for strategic impact

Requirements

Qualifications / Experience / Technical Skills

  • Bachelors or above degree in Math, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or other quantitative fields

  • Experience collaborating with and understanding the needs of stakeholders from a variety of business functions. work most closely with Product, Customer Success and Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Finance organizations. 

  • 10+ years of experience in product analytics, data science, or data engineering roles. (Experience leading more than one of these functions is highly preferred.)

  • Experience in SaaS companies, an expert in SaaS metrics, collaborate, influence Execs in defining the right metrics 

  • Demonstrable functional knowledge of data engineering has proven practices including domain definition, data pipeline development (event streams and extracts), data warehousing 

  • Expertise with SQL queries, ETL, A/B Testing, and statistical analysis (e.g. hypothesis testing, experimentation, regressions) with statistical packages, such as Matlab, R, SAS or Python 

  • Proficiency in one or more analytics & visualization tools (e.g. Chartio, Looker, Tableau) - Comfortable at influencing without authority and coaching your team. Capable of taking analytical insights and tying them to effective framing to drive high-quality decisions within Product and across the business. 

Soft Skills / Personal Characteristics

  • Driving hiring; establishing team culture, vision, strategy, roadmap, and sub-team charters; providing coaching and mentorship to managers and individual contributors; tightly aligning Workato's data goals to effectively serve and enable the business. 

  • Ability to build clear and concise presentations, and communicate effectively at every level of the organization
