The Marketplace team is responsible for building best-in-class fintech partnerships globally that continue to enhance the value and richness of the Backbase Engagement Banking Platform. A small and impactful global team - with a winner's mentality and teamwork at its core.

As Partner Manager, you will be part of a growing team leading Fintech Partnerships globally. Two key parts of the role: First, you will be responsible for the full partner lifecycle. You will identify, evaluate, sign, and manage partners end to end that will drive Backbase’s Ecosystem growth. Second, supporting Partnership Operations - where you will be responsible for managing the partnership pipeline, overseeing and coordinating partner-related projects, escalations, pricing strategy, and multiple internal and external stakeholder management.

You will report to the Director of Marketplace (Fintech-as-a-Service and Fintech Partnerships). You have 5+ years of professional experience, ideally in partnerships, partnership management, and strategic business development with experience in signing new partners in the Fintech, Payments, and/or Banking space.

Meet the job

  • Be responsible for the full partner lifecycle. You will identify, evaluate, sign, and manage partners end to end that will drive Backbase’s Ecosystem growth.
  • Be responsible for leading relationships with a select set of partners that will include large strategic opportunities, as well scaling our partner program.
  • Collaborate with the Marketplace commercial leads for respective regions, and build the field intelligence, trends, client requests, feedback into planning for continuous improvement in Backbase partnerships approach.
  • Supporting Partnership Operations - where you will be responsible for managing the partnership pipeline. Further, supporting / overseeing / coordinating partner related projects, escalations, and multiple internal and external stakeholder management.
  • Will take the lead on managing the internal partnership with Finance to track Marketplace budget, billing, collections, and all finance related activities.
  • Work closely with the Director on supporting pricing and commercial strategy for existing and new partners.
  • Work with a broad range of internal global and local team members in Product (R&D), Sales, Customer Success, Account Management, Marketing and Legal.
  • Be responsible for internal reporting on partnerships and related activities to the leadership.

How about you

  • 5+ years of professional experience, ideally in partnerships, partnership management, strategic business development experience in signing new partners in the Fintech, Payments and/or Banking space.
  • Experience and proven success in identifying and building impactful partnerships both from innovation and revenue growth. Willingness to take a long-term view
    on possibilities.
  • Have built successful relationships with partners, comfortable working with senior leadership and multiple stakeholders on the partnership side.
  • Willing to go into the details and be very hands-on:
    • Managed or supported complex partnership deals, with multiple stakeholders internally and externally. Comfortable with coordinating and supporting critical stakeholders as Product and Legal.
    • Further, managed complex projects and operations to support either client escalations or implementations.
    • You will get a lot of autonomy. But should be comfortable to work in an environment where entrepreneurship is expected, teamwork, collaboration and delivered business outcomes are expected.
    • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance and/or similar streams.
